It isn’t we have made finals and semi-finals recently… we are getting better, beaten Italy in this campaign already too. You can call Macedonia shit but every team seems to be when England beat them. Guess you said the same about Italy too, I’m just enjoying a very good England display and team that has already been to a major final

I’m not but I’ll base it on how we are playing, this is fluent, pressing high up and playing attacking football in all the games this campaign, something we weren’t quite doing before even against lesser opposition. This is playing to our strengths

I said BEFORE the last World Cup, this is how England play best. With the quick tempo, high press.

But I bet Southgate goes all Southgate in the next Euro’s and sets us up not to lose rather than to win.

The last sentence is a fair point. But you can only play what’s in front of you. We’d struggle against this kind of team in the past even with our so called “golden era” of players…. We’ve actually been really good tonight. Majority of these players are coming off a 50 game season as well. 
 

Let’s not forget we have beaten Italy in their own backyard as well. Even then it was “they’re not the team they used to be” etc. This isn’t aimed at you all, but with some people you simply cannot win.
