Unpopular opinion but Maddison is far more productive starting wide and drifting into space rather than starting as a 10 centrally. Seems easier for the opposition to mark him out of the game centrally. That 2 month period from Spurs away in Sept to the start of the World Cup in Nov, when we went 4-3-3 with him in a free role off the right, he scored 5 and 3 assists.

 

Since the WC due to him being injured I don’t think we have gone back to that system. Having said that, Tielemans is vital for that system too.

The ball bounced off the floor onto his back and into the net. He had no chance. It was a fluke and not Iversons fault.

yea I know, but what you've got to remember is that Rodgers is a petty moron trying for the sack and will almost certainly drop the one player who might help get us out of it for Coco the clown

Just look at this defending from Souttar for their winner. 
Souttar has been no worse than any of our defenders but it’s this lack of speed that’s worried me since he signed for the club.

Tbf though, it was clear he was exhausted from about 60/70 mins into the game. If you watched the second half, you’d have seen he was struggling to catch up with opposition players and continually tugging their shirts.

What did Rodgers do….. nothing.

And it’s cost us dearly.

Oddly, I thought we defended in large parts very well. I accept that sounds absurd. 

 

We had, what, 15 corners to defend and won all but one. Blocks galore. Foot in. And, the keeper did what a keeper is supposed to do and just be the last line of defence. They had 35 shots, but most were garbage. 

 

It was the tactical set up that cost us. The lethargy in midfield and subsequent wide open gaps. The lack of support up front. The refusal to play balls into a channel for Daka to run on to.

No that is not correct. It should have been 3-0 at half time and if you go with the 2-1 second half 5-1 would have been a more reasonable representation. We were atrocious
