Brendan Rodgers SACKED - OFFICIAL

Recommended Posts

Brendan departs King Power Stadium as one of the most successful managers in the Club’s history, having guided us to our long-awaited first FA Cup triumph in 2021, the FA Community Shield in the same year, two of the Club’s three highest Premier League finishes and consecutive European campaigns, including our first European semi-final in 2022

THIS WAS ALL ON  FOUNDATIONS THE CLUB BUILT BEFORE HE WAS HERE, SORRY TO TO SAY ITS BEEN A SLOW DECLINE SINCE HE CAME IN, FROM STYLE OF  PLAY/SIGNINGS ECT. BUT THE LAST 18 MONTHS HAVE BEEN RAPID DECLINE, AND SURPRISED THE CLUB hAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH STYLE OF PLAY, RESULTS AND HIS TRANSFER BUSINESS, AND ALIENATION OF PLAYERS, NO OTHER CLUB WOULD OF ALLOWED THIS.

Well partly. The squad is now built in his image. Far too many duffers signed by him and his transfer guy. Far too many players affected by injuries

We've seen they can be aggressive and exciting to watch at times, we need it more often.

Led us to the FA Cup win and will always be close to legend status for that. Some of the football in his first 18 months was absolutely incredible.

But obviously, had to happen and should of months ago at least, has tarnished how he should be viewed at the club by his attitude this season.

I think the club pulled the trigger now as they finally accepted that a larger part of the fan base wanted him gone. That hasn't been the case in recent weeks with some trying to 'shush' our Rodgers out chants. The noise and banners attracting the media attention might've tipped the balance.

Fans can get managers sacked. Said it before but if more had put their money where their mouth was with the talk on banners for Forest he would have gone then.

Both. I’ve heard Benitez wants the job and he’s been in the area. Also seems the logical fit.

How does it work? Does he get his agent to inform the club he's interested? He's favourite an with his CV, we'd have to give him an interview at least surely.

Rodgers was one of our most successful managers. He lost his way last year and since then he’s struggled to recover, though it looked possible he could just before the World Cup. His last hope was the mini run we had against Villa and Spurs but the defeat to Southampton and then an avoidable defeat to Blackburn seemed to seal his fate.

I don’t entirely blame the board for not acting sooner-they were showing faith with a manager that has done well for us in the past-but the moment ‘possible but unlikely relegation’ became ‘probable relegation unless something changes’ was the Southampton match for me. After that the players have looked broken and the fans almost resigned to their fate.

Delighted he's gone; better late than never. Now at least we have a chance of staying up. Can't help thinking that their late winner was the final straw. If we'd scraped an undeserved point not sure they would have pulled the trigger. Unfortunately this highlights the gross mismanagement at the top of our club. However, we can now all get behind the lads as they prepare for the battle ahead. If we go down, which is still a distinct possibility, at least we'll go down fighting if whoever takes charge sets us up to try and win rather than not to lose.

We finished 8th last year and he's the most underperforming manager you've seen for 25 years. That's some take

We're in the relegation zone with a group of players that finished 5th, 5th and then 8th (and were bloody lucky to finish there as it was the sheer quality of players we had that got us out of that situation). Joint favourites for the Europa League and then got dumped out of that at the group stages, embarrassed by Forest last year and Blackburn this year, plus failure to get to the Conference League final. We're bottom of, or hold so many of the 'worst at' stats this year. Last year was bloody poor but my underperforming comment was more aimed at this year (but the trend started last year). Can you name any other manager who's fallen so far of the standards they should be achieving with the resources at their disposal? For as terrible a manager as Taylor was, and Brendan is obviously a better manager, he didn't get the players underperforming Vs their ability as Rodgers has.

Him not been given funds to invest is such weak reporting.  no one talks of the piles of uttter dross he’s signed.

He’ll probably get another PL job but can’t see any big club go in for him.

Anyone have a list of all the shit players he signed?

How? Seriously, how?

He gutted our squad of talent and desire, crippled the players’ self belief, and bought in some abject shit.

How TF do we now have a chance of staying up?

No real surprise in this news, as many have wanted it after the first game of the season.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with 10 games to go and I sincerely hope the players will pull their socks up as they have been just as culpable in his demise.

I would just like to put on the record my thanks to Brendan in bringing the FA Cup to Leicester after 5 attempts.

No doubt, the 'Sack Rodgers' thread will now cease so we can concentrate on the next managerial victim.
