Brendan Rodgers SACKED - OFFICIAL

Recommended Posts

Brilliant news.

My affection for Leicester City and hope for this season has already been destroyed but Top finally made a big boy decision and there is a chance for them to salvage a truly awful campaign.

Bye bye you despicable little man:wave:

606 trying to get Rodgers the Spurs job lol

Imagine if he did.

Two and half years from now and Spurs would be fighting relegation.

How good would that be. lol

Tbf Rodgers is the perfect fit for Spurs. Absolute bottle job. Makes excuses like a world record holder of excuse making, possession is all. He IS the perfect fit. Come on Spurs, you know it makes sense.

I doubt it would take that long at spurs before he turned on the owners and fans.

Nah - they'd pull the plug on him after 12 months. They can't keep managers.

Quite sickening watching Hargreaves Scholes and Cole talking about what a mistake it was to sack Rodgers and how he was letdown by the club with no money to spend. How we well go onto to get a job with a top 6 club.

fvckem. It became clear to me earlier this season that none of them watch anything other than the big few anyway. I remember Neville before the Man U v LCFC match saying he was worried because we play attacking and direct football. No chance he had watch us for ages. During the game Jenas on commentary saying we didn't usually play with such 'nerves'. Again, easily the first game in ages he had seen from us.

Next week after another manager has gone, this will be yesterdays news. This is just something we had to get out of the way and listening to these nobbers is part of the pain you have to go through.

Brendan is the perfect example of someone who fails upwards - wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the Tottenham job next now he’s a free agent.

However I don’t think the players are blameless - this season was the perfect storm of too many people with their hearts and minds elsewhere and not on what was in front of them.

I’m just hoping there’s a Vardy scoring spree incoming… he always loses his scoring boots when it’s bad behind the scenes, so hopefully he come out firing along with the rest of the players

Don't give a toss where he goes...Spuds, Chelsea, Inter Miami..

But if we can land a Pochettino or Nagelsman we would have a good (or at least better) chance of retaining Madders and Youri AND of attracting talent.

The biggest thing for me is the dread l felt at the prospect of him "rebuilding" us is lifted.

Spot on..!

Leicester City Football Club has reached a mutual agreement with Brendan Rodgers that will see him leave the Club after four years as our Men’s First Team Manager.

Brendan departs King Power Stadium as one of the most successful managers in the Club’s history, having guided us to our long-awaited first FA Cup triumph in 2021, the FA Community Shield in the same year, two of the Club’s three highest Premier League finishes and consecutive European campaigns, including our first European semi-final in 2022.

Assistant Manager Chris Davies and First Team Fitness Coach Glen Driscoll will also be leaving with the Club’s thanks and best wishes for their future careers.

Immediate responsibility for Men’s First Team training and match preparation will be led by the Club’s long-serving First Team Coaches Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell.

Leicester City Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “The achievements of the team under Brendan’s management speak for themselves – we’ve experienced some of our finest footballing moments under his guidance and will always be grateful to him and his staff for the heights they helped us to reach on the pitch.

“Off the pitch, Brendan embraced the culture of the Club and helped cultivate an outstanding developmental environment, particularly during the transition to Seagrave, and provided strong leadership during the unprecedented challenge of the coronavirus pandemic. His place in Leicester City history is assured.

“However, performances and results during the current season have been below our shared expectations. It had been our belief that continuity and stability would be key to correcting our course, particularly given our previous achievements under Brendan’s management. Regrettably, the desired improvement has not been forthcoming and, with 10 games of the season remaining, the Board is compelled to take alternative action to protect our Premier League status.

“The task ahead of us in our final 10 games is clear. We now need to come together – fans, players and staff – and show the poise, quality and fight to secure our position as a Premier League club.”

The fact that Top waited so long shows how much Rodgers means to him. Respect for that. Hopefully the players and the club will get that much needed push to get you over the line. Feel like I'm vested in this club and want you to stay up and build back. I'll be watching with interest.:appl:

Out of interest, by following a manager (or players for that matter) rather than a club which is a really strange concept to myself but each to their own. What do you do when he’s between jobs?

Not trying to take the piss or anything, just interested.

Not sure Potter is the guy for the fight

Nope - he needs the transfer Window and to be backed with the types of players he wants. However, there will be many drooling at the prospect for sure.
