Not a fan of Benitez but I'd genuinely be interested to hear your evidence as to why he's finished, guessing it has something to do with he number at the end of his name.

And as for Marsch "saving them from relegation" thats in the same vein as the fraud won the FA cup for us and is equally wrong.

I’m not a big fan of either of them but Rafa lost 46% of games for Everton whereas Marsch lost 43% and Rafa arguably had the better team. There’s not much in it to be honest but Rafa isn’t exactly Pep is he. Rafa apparently wants a 3 year deal on big money. I think Marsch would be more enthusiastic than Rafa but yeh if it was my decision I wouldn’t go for either

Alan pardew?

Forgotten about him.

Would be a bit of a controversial option - given his head-butting, verbal abuse of other managers..:D

He had a great couple of years at Salzburg because it’s a league without any challenging rival. For one season he had Daka and Haaland upfront. With Szoboszlai and Adeyemi in midfield for both of the seasons.

Id simply go Rafa because he’s done a similar role at Newcastle. So if in the likely event we get relegated; he knows the Championship and has experience of sorting out a squad post relegation. His win record at Newcastle was 42%. Anything over 40% is decent for a non trophy challenging club.

His record funnily enough at Everton applied over a 38 game season would have led to 45 points. It was just bonehead choice by the board given his Liverpool connection. So when a bad run happened it went toxic.

I’ve said before my totally leftfield choice for an interim manager would be Steve Clarke

Don't forget that is inflated by a year in the championship.

Steve Clarke is a horrific shout 🤣🤣

But the  i'm not against fat Sam as interim to the summer, I think he would keep us up. Then we can go get someone good for the rebuild.

And deep down that's where i think the board are right now.  Will be desperate for a good results tomorrow.

I think that's where we all are realistically, but being pragmatic, I think we need to go get someone. Even if we win tomorrow, I hope it just makes us a more attractive proposition for an interim to come in

if managers are holding us to hostage due to money with reports of rodgers contract, then i can see why theyre considering names we may not be happy with.

If we can get anyone in until the Summer I think we will be grand. There’s plenty of managers around our current club size/prospect that would love a chance in the premier league especially given the chance to build their own team.
And a couple of prem managers like Frank/Potter who would make the move imo: might take some convincing for Frank but I’d think we can afford to get him here. We will be saving about 50m a season in wages alone from out of contract players. + Maddison sale + finances we already had in place for a rebuild according to the owners statement. I think we would be good for a good enough size transfer kitty.

Big Sam was the specialist before West Brom, but to be fair the west brom team was crap. If it’s till the end of season I don’t see a better option than big sam

Look what he’s done for Scotland over the last few years.

Made their first international tournament since 1998, made the Nations League A (now above England), a successful start to the World Cup qualifying campaign - beating Spain in the process with a good tactical plan.

Before that managed Kilmarnock. When he took over they were bottom but recovered to their highest ever points tally. Next season they finish 3rd and getting an European spot. Numerous wins over the Glasgow big two.

Whilst at West Brom led them to their highest league finish since 1981, 8th.

Worked as an assistant at both Chelsea and Liverpool

Interim pickings are slim - asking an international manager whose next games are June might be a way around it

His thing is to set up defensive, aggressive with route 1 football, I can't see that working for us

Probably exactly what we need to get us out this mess. A manager that sets us up to be solid and organized.

plus Vardy + Vestergaard up top imagine the scenes

I didn't even realise he'd been in work since he was dismal at reading 🤣 so that's my bad, fair play, not the horrific shout I thought it was

Leeds fan here.

Leeds fan disliked him because he was awful. . The football was chaotic. Leeds have some of the best wide players in the bottom half of the division and he played with no width

If you'd have asked any Leeds fan if they'd have swapped him for Rodgers they'd have bitten your hand off. I really wanted him to succeed, I didnt buy into the Ted Lasso narrative when he first joined but he was  truly shocking. Awful manager. The signings werent his they were Victor Ortas.

Most rival fans would take Rodgers. He’s created a virtual reality where the media portray him as one of the elite managers but in reality you’ll do decent for a while. Until you sell a few good players and he starts replacing them with sunday league quality players whilst whinging to every gullible non Leicester fan he’s not been backed despite spending 280million on drivel

Cambiasso would take an interm role and command respect of the players, fan favourite, new ideas, more attractive that anyone else available imo.

Ranieri and Cambiasso as his assistant

Are people being serious when they say cambiasso? I thought Vardy disliked him? He was here for one season and then ****ed off and we won the league.

if we are talking ex players with respect of current players then go with Wes Morgan + Huth as assistant

I was under the impression he left because he was waiting to see who replaced Nige and left when Ranieri came in?

Ranieri and Cambiasso didn’t get along when he was his manager at Inter.

Given on his Instagram, Cambo looks quite happy doing media work for Argentine and Italian TV. I don’t think he’s gonna give it up for us when his lifestyle looks pretty damn good currently
