They also schooled us over those two legs in the league cup semi final!

They did not school us and we were totally robbed by the officials in those semifinal games.

How come oddschecker state Rafa as favourite with Smith not even listed?? Not a betting man is this because Smith deal a certainty or he's pulled out??

In the game he was a great defender and a winner. Helped make Villa's defence better too. We need this right now.

His personal life not great but there's a few players like that. The club literally fined Vardy, and sent him on a course for something he did off the pitch.

And didn’t an ex mangers son cover himself with similar glory?

JT’s personal life is not what we’re employing him for.

If these are the trio coming in lets get behind them and at least give them a chance. Pep would have struggled at Norwich and at least they should give us a bit of discipline and pride we have winable games in our run in and if our squad performs as they can we can do this

Betting has been suspended in most places. All those odds are from Betfair exchange which will stay active if anyone is daft enough to lump on as the risk is with the punters not the betting company.

You can pretty much take it as Smith is a done deal.

Initially not overly excited by this, but it'll be good to have Shakey back, and JT may well add some much needed leadership to the dressing room (and defensive organisation).

Far more positive about this now I've heard JT is coming in to be fair.

I was thinking this as well, if anyone can sort our mess of a defence our surely it’s him

Think I’ve calmed down, still think we’re down as the board have taken too long.

But while I want the club to go for a better manager or an up and coming manager and go all out on rebuilding the infrastructure and identity - staying in the league is not beyond Smiths ability, a pragmatic approach and instilling belief could reap instant results. Man City aside. He has A. Already done it B. He actually on the face of it done ok and the clubs he’s been at previous, Norwich now worse off without him. C.  As long as it is interim then the club have the flexibility whatever the outcome.

Shakey knows the club and the ideals of what the fans expect he’ll drive that. JT is to be honest an addition that would create a level of leadership that I am sure will definitely see an uplift in the mood and attitude when they step on the pitch.

I thought John Terry didn’t want to do coaching unless he was the main man?

Obviously didn’t get the offers he wanted as he’s back at Chelsea’s academy as a “coaching consultant”

Going from Benitez to Smith is like having the chance to shag Margot Robbie and then ending up with Nora Batty.
Oh well. I live in hope.

If Nora Batty is capable of getting a 'happy ending', then I won't complain.

I'd rather have had Dean Smith and Shakeu for the Villa and Bournemouth games.

This week has been a massive gamble by the club.

We could have been in a decent position to escape the drop with 3 or 4 points from those two home games.

Yes agreed, we are massively up against it. They should have been in at least for the Bournemouth game.
