Rudkin

Recommended Posts

If nothing else, it's gone stale at board level. It's needs a new fresh approach (a less inept one) from the DoF. We needed change the year we got relegated. That was a perfect time to get the changes in. He was part of the course that relegated us and the financial issue we find ourselves in, so he failed at his job.

It's screaming out for new blood, but I don't trust the club as a whole to have appointed an excellent replacement. We need the DoF to lead a new 'vision' with enthusiasm and direction and to be strong. We currently have a wet blanket

What pi$$es me off is that we we’ve gone from a club that finds hidden gems when we had had Steve Walsh snr. To now a club that is run by DOF in Rudkin who puts crap players like Danny ward and Ryan Bertrand on 50k+ a week. And lets players contracts run down to a point they are leaving on frees. It’s no wonder we’re in the shite with financial fair play.

So could it be that Rudkin has a bad reputation in the football world as well as our supporters?

It could be more that Potter wanted more control than our two bob board were willing to give, but this would hardly be a surprise.

What in the three attempts of him trying to recruit him gave him that idea? 😂

Our rep is very poor amongst ‘football people’. Enzo knew the writing was on the wall to an extent. Guillem his mate mentioned that certain obstacles existed at the club.

Yes, we appear to be a very basic, not particularly flexible or innovative club. Winning the trophies was amazing but it will keep people there indefinitely.

The idea that we could have got Potter instead of Cooper if Top had had the backbone to let him bring in his own DoF honestly makes my shit itch.

competent coach or championship coach and jobs for the boys, any sensible owner wouldn't even have struggled with that decision. but, the nepo baby isn't one

Wouldn't have shocked me if he'd deferred the decision to Rudkin.

"Jon, we can hire this top coach, but he'll only join if we replace you with someone else, what do you think?"

And half the fanbase insisting this is the best we could possibly do lol makes me sick.

We spend fortunes on the training ground, players etc, yet seem reluctant to spend money on 2 of the most important roles.

Manager and DOF.

For some reason I have no reactions left so have to quote and applaud 👏🏼 good posts

Never going to happen as our home support is full of "happy to be here" and "we were in league 1 once" mentality people. So many love Top and won't hear a bad word said about him or anything at the club. It's almost like some of our fan base don't really care anymore because we won the league and the fa Cup so nothing matters anymore other than hitting their clappers every so often and lapping up the free beer and donuts. We must have one of the most passive home support in the country.

This doesn’t get spoken about enough.

It’s unfortunately just the way it is…… despite all the wrong KP and the club keep doing. The majority still buy the shirts, the majority still buy the food, the majority still spend small fortunes in the club shop and the majority still take their free beers and cake.

The majority of the fan base attending the KP on match day still don’t think the club can do any wrong, and just accept the situation as it is. It’s part of the problem.

The contract was all but signed and fell down because of backroom staff issues according to OPA. There’s more and more rumours coming out that it was indeed because he wanted to bring his own DOF in with him.

Imagine having the chance to be rid of the useless DOF you currently have, and replace them with a potentially better one, and refuse…………

This doesn’t make much sense as a rumour.

If Potter was discussing the position with us, wouldn’t he’d have been discussing it with Rudkin primarily?

In which case - it’s a bold and somewhat unbelievable move to agree a contract with the person you’ve been discussing the contract with - but then demand that person steps aside.

If Potter wanted to ultimately do that - it’s the sort of internal power play you go with 6 months down the line, not up front with the guy who’s deciding on the position.

It’s probably not as simple as the contract being signed. But the suggestions were Potter was happy to take the job providing he could bring in his own DOF.

It’s funny how one paper suggested Potter was set to be unveiled as the new manager, and then 24 hours later it’s Cooper. And a fair few are suggesting that it’s the reason the whole thing collapsed.

Cooper positively name checked Rudkin in his first interview that the club put out, which must have been scripted by the club. lol

Rudkin is like the turd that won't flush. He's going nowhere while Top is still in charge.

I know a few agents and you wouldn't want to hear how they describe him.
