I mean, he's not saying that, and Ward has been indisputably bad, but while Iversen looks more confident and has made some good saves, he still would have conceded some of the shots we've allowed by giving good players too much space outside the area, meaning a lot of our single goal defeats would likely have ended the same.

This we shall never be able to establish.

He's been here since 2007 and his routine is monotonous.

I watched him before every home games in the warm ups and all I see is the same old same old, perhaps you are a late comer and miss it.

My opinion is we need fresh blood and new ideas in this department.

He was never a top rate keeper himself and somewhat of a journeyman in his earlier days.

So you haven't got a clue and are basing it off a standard pre match routine that pretty much every keeper will do up and down the country.

Deano made an interesting comment today in the press conference about Maddison and the positions he picks up on the pitch. “James held his hands up after the mistake last week, but why are you coming so deep to get the ball? Why are we giving it you when you’ve not got a forward pass on”.

It’s something I’ve noticed before with Maddison when he plays centrally, he starts trying to do too much in the wrong areas of the pitch, hopefully the new management team can get Maddison on board with trying to find space in the final 3rd and only looking for the pass in those areas.

Watch our chances created shoot up if Maddison, a player already our most creative is being told to play further forward. Bodes better for our strikers who must be bored to tears watching us without reason pass it around the back. It’s a simple fix but habits aren’t easily changed.

Where is the press conference to watch?

I think half of the reason this was happening was that we were so slow and lethargic getting the ball forward he kept dropping deep to try and make things happen.

I don't understand why Amartey even passed to Maddison in that area of the pitch. His only option was the pass back to the keeper. Billings realised this and started closing down Iverson before Madders even made tha pass.

You obviously haven't read ALL of my posting so it's, perhaps, you who hasn't got a clue.

The irony of this specialist position is that of all the great goalkeepers employed by Leicester City over the years we have to rely on a third rate ex-keeper to coach and assist the current ones.

Please don't try and browbeat me over this as you have your opinion and I have mine of which I am entitled to.

Recently as well I think he’s over burdened with the captaincy, and it’s been apparent he’s been trying to be everything everywhere. It’s really impacted on his game and culminated in that mistake. Hopefully the new management team can change that dynamic.

Simple fix? Not sure who is going to actually pass it further up the field if Youri isn't playing

A bit like suggesting we'd definitely have done better with Iversen, no?

What is with you really?  So if have the audacity to think -  we may well have done better points wise, had we played Iversen -  I am not allowed to have such an opinion as it is not in line with your much superior view on anything any Member ever posts on FT?

If so - you should become the site Moderator.

Well hopefully Evans can get back in the team and that burden on James will be lifted :fc:

A confident Maddison turns and drives forward.

Currently the team is so scared of losing possession he played it back to the keeper from the halfway line. Passing it out to him wasn't the issue but his decision making afterwards.

Yea I was just thinking maybe he didn't trust Ndidi (if he was still on ) and felt he had to come and collect from deep .

..if you watched Maddison when he played for Norwich, he did pick up the ball from the defence and sought to transition the play!!!

Everything was going through him, and I suspect that is how he really feels his natural position to be. He did describe himself as  #8.

He is just as effective as a #10 and looks like a game changer when on form.
