Think it’s important we don’t get too down/lose fresh momentum when we inevitably get battered on Saturday. Keep it respectable and ensure our GD is better than those around us, could effectively be another point for us if it comes down to the wire.

Personally if the effort levels improve I think it would be hard to say no to giving him a shot if he keeps us up, but at the same time I think there are far better options out there for us for a long term rebuild. Id feel pretty bad if he kept us up and had to leave. 

I think this suits both parties possibly. We need a manager till the end of the season, and see where we all are? And Dean and Co, get to improve their reputation/CV. Could be a match made in heaven....I'll get my coat!

It won't happen. U will be one up front. He will convert someone to a winger. He will get a player playing behind the striker. Maybe Vardy dropping back. He has lost his pace so maybe he can become a different type of player

The main worry I have is that the current back room staff has worked with the new manager team before and they will be listened to and continue to blindsidedly use Ndidi ahead of Mendy and leaving Nacho on the bench.  No one in the team seems to know what a handicap Ndidi is and has been the center of our problems on the pitch for years (I don’t blame him; just the manager who keeps selecting him).

Ndidi was pretty decent when Shakespeare was here before, though played more games due to Rudkin messing up the Adrien Silva deal.

 

Saturday's team should tell us who's putting the work in at Seagrave.  Defeat is virtually guaranteed, but at least we can put up a little more fight than we've seen in the last few games.

So you’d rather have Kolo Toure over John Terry? Based on the fact that he’s made mistakes, like everyone else in the world? Are you being serious?

LCFC wins over anything but your family, as long as Terry doesn’t fancy your missus, there is no problem from you’re perspective. Thanks for understanding.

We need a leader on the pitch to rally and take responsibility. Shouldn't have leet Kasper go, especially as Evans has had so many injury issues over the past 18 months.

Is the role of a good coach to get players with the potential to play better. If a new coach just goes along with what the fans or social media think then surely he is the wrong man for the job

Good luck to the new management team. Hoping that fans will get behind them to the end of the season through thick and thin. Not a time to be hypercritical, just provide support and make that stadium rock like it did during the great escape.

Just wanted to say good luck to Deano, and good luck to you, i hope you dont get relegated, we need more midlands teams in the PL, not less.....

 

With regard to Deano, i honestly think he can keep you up, Leicester (from an outside perspective), have quite a few quality players, and on paper your squad is too good to go down, obviously this needs to be backed up with reality though.

 

In the 19/20 season, Deano kept Villa up with a worse overall squad than you have now (we had Grealish, but we also relied on players like El Ghazi, Trezeguet, Samatta etc, who were terrible), and in a way you have your version of Grealish (Maddison), so i can see Deano placing a lot of responsibility on him and just saying to him "go and be dangerous, wherever on the pitch that is, go and make trouble for opposition teams", thats exactly what he did with Grealish.

 

Before i saw his interview, i thought Deano will tighten your defence up, will probably make you more defensive, and then try to hit teams on the transition/break with players like Maddison, Barnes etc, and after listening to his interview, i think thats exactly what he will do, as he said something like "i think Leicester have players good in quick transition", so sitting back a bit more and hitting teams on the break, which is basically exactly how he kept Villa up in 19/20 when he changed to that style in the last 10 games or so and we went from near certain relegation to survival on the last day.

 

Terry (love him or hate him) is a good appointment also i think, terry was only with Villa 2 seasons i think, but there is no doubt an ex-player of his calibre, as well as his personality, had a huge effect on our defenders etc and the dressing room.

I could be living in total cuckooland, desperate for a bit of positivity after a long stretch of pure misery watching us but I was interested in reading Villa's forum.

 

He really is their Pearson. I think they acknowledge he's no elite coach, but he's a good builder, a good judge of character, somebody on there made the point that a lot of their side they're smashing it with now are Smith's signings rather than Gerrard's and that Emery's coaching has raised the level, but ultimately Smith was the one recruiting the right characters and whatnot.

 

Interestingly I read a Norwich fan on there say that he takes back most of the shit he gave Smith, thinks that their squad is in-fact crap anyway and that they've barely improved under Wagner either.

 

I've just got a slightly good feeling about him. I don't know if it's that absence of optimism I've had for so long but I've just got a feeling this may work. Smith, Shakespeare and Terry need to install some much missing fundamentals into this team and quickly.
