What I was looking for mainly was an improvement in our transition, our forward play, given how few goals Man City have conceded in last 10 games, "any" goal would leave me positive.

Well not only did we score but I feel our forward play is much more direct, we look more dangerous going forward, and this is even with a team who's confidence has been battered.

In terms of the manager reading the game, we actually improved in the second half, which as a Leicester City supporter is a breath of fresh air, having been used to Rodgers throwing away games.  Lots of substitions made to give many players a run out and is very welcome to see Soyuncu back in the team who is clearly still a quality player.

Its a shame this is was the first game under the new trio, but the result is respectable, and I have seen improvements in the team as well.

 

Things I think we need to improve on from watching this game.

 

Goalkeeping, we need to be picking up corners.
Defensively we still need to be more agressive.  But this did improve a bit in the second half so at least indicates this was recognised.

Not judging anything on today

Man City gave up after scoring 3

Neither team looked like getting out of 2nd gear

But we did show some fight after scoring, which is something that has not been seen for a long time, so we have hope.

Pep may have decided to coast for the second half … but that was serious improvement.  And more than enough to guarantee we finish with a better GD than Southampton, Everton and Forest.  And potentially Leeds.

 

Seven to go!  With Nacho up front and Cags, Jonny and Mendy in front of Iversen, we absolutely have life.

That second half was excellent. Gutting to see Kele hit the post there too, could have been massive even if just for goal difference.

How many chances can Nacho miss? Despite the first half we could have actually had a draw if he puts his chances away. Second time he's cost us points with shit finishing.

I think the important point is that we created chances to score 4 goals against man city.

3 massive mistakes that all led to goals early on in the game, and overall starting really negative, however, can see why we would want to start defensively though, logically to try and see out the first 20-30 mins. In practice it crumbled very quickly but can't fault the idea. 

On another day we could nick a draw here, if the Maddison shot goes in and the Iheanacho goal and who knows. 

Were we good enough? No, Man City largely stepped off the gas, but we grew into the game and there are some positives to take from this, which is largely much more than we can say for the last few months.

Soyuncu is 10x the defender that Souttar and Faes are, it's a crime that he's been left to rot by Rodgers and will now leave on a free, he could have been an integral part of a rebuild. 

Lots to learn, not good enough, but much improved overall i'd say in a game we expected would be a cricket score.
