Met office showing a 3 hour gap. Extended afternoon session. Tomorrow not as grim as it looked earlier now either. There is hope.

They’ve issued a weather warning for flooding tomorrow according to the met office. These weather apps are confusing me. Where’s Michael fish when you need him?

Tomorrow looks grim still. Fingers crossed for today though.

Just when everything is going beautifully you want to avoid that collapse, Australia lucky tired and not knowing what to do… 150+ pretty much gives us a good advantage

With a big chance they reach it and we have to bat again..plus playing against time lost…250+ however win win..They have to get it first, giving us more time because of a loss of a full day or 75-90% of a day..They are more under the pump, and keeps pressure on. Declaring early would of given them a get out out of jail card..like first test..Now we can squeeze especially if Anderson stays economical & throw in a quick wicket.

If they reach now our higher to get total, though I doubt it

then it will be only , IMO 60-90 runs.

the other alternative would be 130-200+ runs to chase…on this wicket..

And plus we have a better chance,of Bowlers not having to bowl long stints,

we can swap them around or out more comfortably. So,Broad,Woakes,Ali can concentrate giving hard overs, with maybe Root even Stokes having ball time and

not having to pace their bowling..Throwing in the kitchen sink & more relaxed knowing they can make every ball count.

I also Hope this group of umpires & rule makers behind them are not so fastidious, and more open to get some play in as quick as possible, when covers are on, making quick descisions as soon as there is movement of the covers and drying mopping up machines & props..We shouldn’t lose play because of Umpire or their officials incompetence. I will also support them all day long,if there are either to large or too many soggy areas in the outfield.

2023 Test grounds not having better covers or system to cover also the outfield is quite pathetic. Stupid assembly kits & carpet fitting skills also pathetic.

Hovers & small tent like rescources at least..Many Profi football clubs also had to improve standard on ground equipment & lights. But they can play in the rain,

Test cricket quite right Cant…that’s why grounds & umpires must better prepare themselves to push the limits,to start and use the dry available moments as much & quick as possible. Botha,Gower, bumble today Hussain and others have been very loud on this subject since their playing days..Also if it’s not been dry,and no play then jump in & forget The lunch or tea & prepared to play if it stops raining..

All supporters donate and send/take all the sponges you and local supermarkets have..but leave the rubber ducks at home to your kids,

it’s heart breaking & a stab in the back to watch 1000 of rubber ducks swimming over the cricket ground..:crylaugh:

BBC suggesting even if it did dry up might be some time before any play is possible.

“Even when it does stop raining, it will take at least two hours for the ground to be ready for play and then we have consider whether there will be a few dry hours for play”
