He did an exeptional job in the Champions League by qualifiying for the round of 16 in a group with Porto, Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid. If he gets the job I'm 99% sure Rik De Mil will join him as the new assistent manager. 16 hours ago, Bonanza said: I think he's one of the best (young) Belgian managers alongside Kompany (Burnley), Clement (Monaco), Vrancken (KRC Genk) and Karel Geaerts (Union). I would've loved him as the new manager at Leuven. He interviewed for the job as well. This interview took place at Leicester by the way. He must've impressed TOP and the board of Leicester. Here are a couple of them.

But Parker's win ratio there was 17% whereas Hoefkens' was 56%, so we're talking about different degrees of failure. Patrick Posted 12 June 2023 Share Posted 12 June 2023 So they're seriously considering appointing a PE teacher with an Instagram bio of 'Crossfit Lvl 1, Nutritionist, THE BEST IS YET TO COME' and a profile full of 'live, laugh, love' tier motivational quotes. Would take Smith on a 10 year deal over this guy. https://www.instagram.com/carlhoefkens/ 1

Popular Post inckley fox Posted 12 June 2023 Popular Post Share Posted 12 June 2023 Hoefkens may well be a capable boss, but if 19 games of management (after which he got the sack) - at a level which is quite unlike the EFL and of lesser standard than the EPL - is getting you excited, then I must be missing something. If he is a competent manager, the first substantial shred of support for that being the case is something we've never seen (and getting through the group stages just before he was fired only counts if we're also willing to count Shakey reaching the quarters, by which measure we might as well just reappoint him). So it beats me that anyone could in any way think that he ticks boxes for a rebuild and a promotion. Unless, that is, those fans are gunning for the most random possible outcome for the next season or two! I mean, I'm not keen on Gerrard, but he's managed in the EPL (successfully at times) and won a league. I'm not a fan of Parker but he's been promoted twice from the FLC. Pearson and Smith, who many also scoff at, have also won promotions from that league, and kept their sides up. Corberan, Robins, Carrick have all done well in the Championship. McKenna has won a promotion in English football. I have to imagine that this a made-up story of Preki proportions, and that the board are basing their appointment on reality and credentials rather than whatever you'd be basing the appointment of Hoefkens (or, to a lesser degree, Martin) on. But is there any need for fans, who might not always be 'the voice of reason' but certainly have been in relation to our board's surreal way of operating, to take this seriously?
KFS Posted 12 June 2023 Share Posted 12 June 2023 I get the feeling the club are putting conditions in place with Smith. He only comes if Terry does too, and he doesn’t want to drop down. All of the other names stink don’t they
