This all seems rather silly for a football club that has broken FFP rules in the past, presumably Derby should be seeking recompense from us?

It’s also really only Burnley that has a proper claim. They allegedly FFP in the season they got relegated. We kind of have a claim cos maybe that’s when the points would/should be deducted. Leeds have no claim cos they wouldn’t have stayed up anyway.

I think you're right on Leeds, there's no causation.

We didn't break FFP rules. They weren't any back then.

Leicester make £3.1m settlement with Football League over FFP claim

The Football League’s then-new FFP rules, aimed at improving its clubs’ financial sustainability particularly in the Championship, set out sanctions including heavy fines for clubs which made losses greater than £8m in 2013-14. Leicester, spending heavily on players’ wages, made a £34m loss in 2012-13, then reduced it to £21m, partly due to receiving a large increase in income from a marketing deal signed with Trestellar Limited, a company run by the son of the former Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards. That deal, under which Trestellar sold the sponsorship of the club’s shirt and stadium back to King Power, is understood to have been under investigation by the EFL when considering whether Leicester breached the rules.

I am just establishing we did break FFP rules ourselves. Don't have an opinion on Everton either way because the cash won't be there anyway.

Ah, I new are main breach were before the ffp rules were introduced, didn't realise there was a residual issue! But, we had a settlement, so look forward to getting ours from Everton.

I think scaring away 777 would be doing Everton fans a favour !!

I am surprised that any one would consider purchasing the club when they could be facing a possible points deduction & pending lawsuit.

Just ****ing beautiful to see us ****ing standing up for ourselves for once.

Take them for every ****ing penny.

Then go after Man City when they're found guilty.

VINDICATION.

The fact that the league will be scared to take action against Man C will probably save Everton. They can't do one and not the other !!

I'm hoping that if we're successful against Everton then more clubs sit the **** up and take notice about what can be achieved and start holding other cheats to account.

Surely the case should be against the Premier League for lack of enforcement on the laws and the time it has taken.

Everton have been allowed to over-commit for a number of years and nothing was done.

A settlement for missing out on the top 4 as well as the relegation due to lack of action must be addressed.

I think there’s a drastic difference in a club slightly falling out of line which can be almost accidental and a club completely ignoring the rules entirely like everton.

The precedent of not punishing them is possibly worse than the fallout of enforcing it.

The cash genuinely isn’t there to give out if successful. Football’s finances are so wrapped in loans and  debt. You just end up trying to make Everton bust

You are right.  300 million would bankrupt them.  They are close enough already!!
