Unexpected away wins roll call

Liverpool away 1981. They hadn't lost for 4 seasons at home. Useless and relegation bound, we went there and won.

Mid eighties were were notoriously shite away. Prob about 1 win in 3 or 4 seasons.  We went to white Hart lane and did them 3-1, totally out of the blue.

Middlesbrough promotion party last  day. We were the classic mid table on the beach. A Gary Mac beauty got the meagre away following of 200 an absolute battering in exchange for the 3 points

Ayresome Park, I remember it well. They were ready to party and we blew them away. Pleat was manager and we were on a good run.
I was on the supporters coach and we needed a police escort all the way to the A1. Toxic at the end and we were glad to get out in one piece.

Played in a monsoon if I remember rightly

I was there, the weather was appalling, loads of out fans never got there because of snow. The club gave everyone who went a tee shirt a few days later, I think it said "I was there when Mark Robins made a splash". I still have it somewhere

I went to the two Liverpool away 2-1 wins in the 80's. That 1981 victory felt like a cup win, like you say against all odds. It still ranks as one of the best and most exciting I've seen.

I'll add Southampton away in 2012 when we won 2-0. Southampton were coasting to promotion and we were dull mid table. Even Matt Mills got on the scoresheet! It made for a nice midweek break on the south coast.

Live on Sky wasn’t ?

Tbf we could have put a run for the playoffs after that but were wildly inconsistent in the league that season
