Newcastle Away

It's just frustrating to watch! It's almost as though Smith believes a point is good enough and then he is confident of beating West Ham.

We need two wins...playing like this we are not achieving that lol

It could be he's hoping to wear out Newcastle, force a few cards, and then throw some attackers on to hit them quickly?

It's a miracle, and absolutely more by luck than judgment, that we have survived to half time without conceding.

We need to actually play to our only strength and attack in the second half now.

We are as good as these in attack. Play like it.

That's pure luck. We look like a league two team.

It’s Smiths game plan!

expect, he wants this until 65/70 minutes and he will introduce madders, Barnes and Daka and try and get a foothold at that point. Newcastle will naturally sit back if they don’t score by then as they only need the point.

that’s our best shot of getting 3 points. It’s just if we can hold off until 65/70 minutes. Half time was certainly needed!

Game plan not working. We could have been done 2-0 already. Bring Maddison on at half time please for Ndidi.

Sorry but the game plan is definitely working -- it's 0-0 and he's not made the attacking changes yet

Whether that's a good game plan is another question though!

Performance means **** all. We’ve gone to frustrate them and so far it’s working.

It’s clear Smiths ambition is to stay in the game, and then bring Madders and Barnes on, hopefully by this point Newcastle will just have 10 players in our half, and we might, just might catch them on the break……

Its all we can do, in our state we can’t match Newcastle man for man, we’ve just got to try and stay in the game and look to Nick one.

It's actually criminal they are not playing with 10 men. Complete disgrace

Let's not make out with 10 men this wouldn't end any different.  You could reduce Newcastle to 9 or even 8 men and I'd still fancy them to beat us.

Hell, send all the players off except for the keeper and we would still pass it round the back.

No thanks

its unsustainable as it stands

you can be sure that Howe will tweak things to exploit whatever spaces we are allowing - as it is they’ve had way too many 2 on 1’s given our shape

no point in kel being so high - he looks understandably rusty and we probably could bring on madders for him and inevitably daka for vards

Draw and win takes it out of our hands. Everton will beat Bournemouth. We needs two wins, it's as simple as that. We are giving Newcastle way too much respect and making it far too easy for them to pepper our goal. We need to get the first goal and we aren't even trying. 14 shots to 0 shots is pathetic.

This is the best our current (shit) team can hope for. We are never going to outplay Newcastle at home. We''ll bring Barnes and Maddison on at 70 mins and score. The question is, can we hang on until then, and how knackered will everyone be?
