Newcastle Away

Recommended Posts

Can't carry on like this. As we get more tired, it's just a matter of time. Ndidi done very little. Presume Mendy injured.

Have to go for it at some point. We need to win. Even though we've two up front, it's like we are playing a lone striker, they've had so little effect.

I'll say 3-0.

This is sh1thousery the way others at the bottom have done it. And its actually quite admirable. We rode a bit of luck but Newcastle are looking annoyed   Feels like Dean has ripped up any attacking identity we may have had and gone to bore the pants of them and their crowd.

Interesting to see what happens now. Probs another 20 mins of this unless Newcastle score.

It's just frustrating to watch! It's almost as though Smith believes a point is good enough and then he is confident of beating West Ham.

We need two wins...playing like this we are not achieving that lol

At least we are not losing, take YT off and bring  madders on

This is a tough watch and it does seem only a matter of time before they score. I assume the plan is to keep it 0-0 then bring on Barnes and Maddison.

Souttar has been superb though.

Iversen is as bad as Ward.

Sorry but the game plan is definitely working -- it's 0-0 and he's not made the attacking changes yet

Whether that's a good game plan is another question though!

The posts saving us twice can’t be part of the game plan. We are lucky. This can’t last another 10 mins.

We are absolutely crap.

It's not as if we've made it difficult for Newcastle either in open play. Fortunately the centre halves have managed to deal with most things but the pressure on the ball from the midfield / full backs is absolutely non existent.

Draw and win takes it out of our hands. Everton will beat Bournemouth. We needs two wins, it's as simple as that. We are giving Newcastle way too much respect and making it far too easy for them to pepper our goal. We need to get the first goal and we aren't even trying. 14 shots to 0 shots is pathetic.

Because if we open up and attack there's too many gaps in the defence and they'll score plenty.

Performance means **** all. We’ve gone to frustrate them and so far it’s working.

It’s clear Smiths ambition is to stay in the game, and then bring Madders and Barnes on, hopefully by this point Newcastle will just have 10 players in our half, and we might, just might catch them on the break……

Its all we can do, in our state we can’t match Newcastle man for man, we’ve just got to try and stay in the game and look to Nick one.

Mate they have hit the bar twice and one cleared off line.

Lucky it’s 0-0

We’re still in this. It’s 0-0…. Considering how many games we’ve come off losing at half time, this isn’t bad. The lads will take some confidence from this. There’s another 45, it is however critical that Smith gets the next bit right. Get Barnes and Madders on and stretch the game a little. It just takes one ball in to Vardy, and he can Nick a goal.
