Leicester City V West Ham - Pre Match thread

Assuming Vards and madders both start, If we get a penalty who's going to take it? Don't care what Smith has said has to be Vardy surely!

I ask cause I have a feeling we'll get one

Not easy but we have to give it the same committment as Monday night. In hard and show our intent from the off.

Im certain they may have their eye on the Euro final as none of their players will want to miss that one.

So that's a real incentive for us to dictate the game.

I want to see Vardy up top and Maddison play further up field with Barnes on the Wing. Though I think I'd start with

Daka and prefer to see Vardy come on for the second half

We've got to win the midfield battle early. I'm glad Wilf put in a perofrmance on Monday night, His best for a while.

Not easy I know ,But there's no way back from here. It's all or nothing.

Has to be Vardy. Funny I have that feeling too. If anyone deserves to take it then it is Vardy.

Everton have DcL and Patterson out as well as Coleman. Bournemouth have raised their game of late and if their attitude is right I can see that being a draw.

We are not favourites to stay up but we have a chance so we just cannot afford to not deliver from our side. I think we will. I’m actually nervous now for this game but I think our fans will really see this opportunity and get behind the team. We need that too.

Attitude, team work, bravery and resilience are more important than ever now and we have to show our desire to stay in this division. If we win and Bournemouth do is a favour then I think we will learn from it and come back stronger next season.

Whilst an early goal would be great, I think we need to just focus on getting the win, regardless of when that first goal happens.

                              Iversen

Castagne Souttar Evans Faes Thomas

                    Youri           Soumare

                             Maddison

                    Kelechi        Vardy

Gives you the option of bringing Barnes on or going to a back 4 if we are chasing the win later on, or Barnes for Kelechi and Mendy into the midfield if we are holding on.

Attack them first 10-15, but then settle down, the crowd will get behind the lads, they'll be up for it. Worst thing we can do is concede early.

Why are free kick specialists not always great penalty takers?

It would sort of round the season off for us to not win and Everton to only get a draw - God I'm a miserable old git at times

If the last 18 months watching us has taught us anything about the team, it's that that is exactly what is going to happen :scarf:

Got to be Vardy,  Maddison has a powder puff shot on him.

Got a good feeling about this like I did the FA Cup final. Another dramatic finale I reckon. Everton will draw and we'll score a scrappy last minute winner. We're staying up boys

I haven't had much of a good feeling about the whole season, fairplay for your optimism. It could be worse we could be in Leeds position I guess. The point at Newcastle has left us relying on 1 result elsewhere rather than two if we do win.

Dean Smith Pre-Match Press Conference vs West Ham

Injuries

Cags tried to get himself back into training but felt it, he's definitely out

KDH has trained for the last few days & is available

Ricky we scanned him and he's fine.

Wilf we're still waiting he's not trained this week.

On Newcastle

People will say we were lucky in that game but I'll say they were lucky, they should have had a man sent off.

The atmosphere around the training ground

They showed defiance at St James' Park, we can move on from that with optimism and see it as an opportunity to win a game

On keeping the players calm

we've got to make sure we can do what we do, it's a pretty simple message

On potential West Ham changes

The final is 10 days away, I wouldn't expect too many changes, they'll want to finish the season on a high.

On approach to the game

You've got to get that balance right and that's the key thing.

We've got to score a goal because without a goal you won't win the game.

It doesn't get any clearer for me, that's all they need to know and that's all they do know.

On his future

My future was to come in for seven weeks and eight games

That's a question for after the game and not before it (if he wants to stay)

On the importance of fans

We saw the difference they made against Wolves and Everton, I fully expect the supporters will be right behind us.

On what survival would mean to him

Incredible pride, coming in so late in the season, when I came in I felt a bit of the belief had gone, I feel we've got that back

On if he will follow the Everton score

I don't need to, I will concentrate on our game and be fully imersed in our game and any tactical changes needed. I will find out after full-time

Message to the fans

We need their 100% support, we're all in the same boat. The only way we can do that is being together

Stuart Attwell doing the Everton game, who supposedly lives in my neighbourhood apparently. If I see him jogging past before Sunday, I'll remind him to give three penalties to Bournemouth and send off three Everton players. Problem solved.
