Premier League Thread 2023/2024

Nuno is a terrific bloke on a personal level and won't put up with the owner interfering, so it'll be interesting to see how that relationship plays out.

He also ran with a very small squad of around 20 players at Wolves so he'll probably ship a boatload out as soon as he can.

Also apparently fell out with Gibbs-White and then sold him, so that will be funny if he gets binned.

I wonder how he gets on with their midfield. At Wolves he had very good midfielders. On Friday Forest were playing with cloggers like Worrall and Kouyate.

All this speculation about Cooper losing his job, it's very unedifying and extremely grubby all this speculation when the guy is still in a job. He frankly deserves a lot more respect.

It doesn't look like an appointment that will work for so many reasons.

He doesn't like the owner interfering, but will be working under an owner who runs the recruitment process. He prefers a small squad, but has a squad list that reads like the cast of 101 Dalmatians. He doesn't get on with Morgan Gibbs-White, but he's their best player. He likes to play attractive football, but Forest are a long ball side.

If nothing else it'll be entertaining.

Let's see if Cooper will talk now about Marinakis' antics, the total abusive interference he had regarding transfers and the dirty games Marinakis plays with agents.

I hope Nuno is wise and won't go there. Forest will disappear in National League in a couple of years. Big investigation is coming for them and the owner.

what is that line about forest looking at birmginham city all about??

Nonsense on many levels. Birmingham's issue in recent years is going for glamour names when they were doing well for no real reason (Zola and Rooney). Notts aren't doing well presently plus Nuno isn't a huge name.

Forest done it at the right point. It had become stale, and watching them recently (which always made me want to vomit anyhow) they've become really bad. There is no place for sentimentality in football, and change will (sadly) do them good. Great achievement to get Forest up and keep them up, but he's gone as far as he can.  Lets hope they nosedive from here, but they've given themselves enough time to turn it around, and the bottom 3 are honking.

If only we had the balls to get rid of Brendan at the right time.

Apparently, sacking Brendan was the reason we went down! He left us in the relegation zone with 10 games left to play, but clearly the relegation was nothing to do with him...

I think the only reason it has so many up votes is the reference to Birmingham, even though the scenario is completely different as someone else has already said. Either way they got the desired effect from other mindless idiots.

I'd agree if they had made a more inspiring appointment, but NES isn't that. His career is going in the wrong direction since leaving Wolves and he's replacing a manager who is absolutely adored by the locals. NES starts slowly and you can see them spiralling.

If Luton are within touching distance of them come March, I can easily see them overtaking Forest by sheer fight alone.

The first thing Nuno will likely do is what he did at Wolves which is a back 5 with a low block and playing on the counter in order to make them hard to beat. Ironically exactly what Cooper did away at Wolves the other week which got them a 1-1 draw.

If that happens it won't be pretty. He has to make them harder to beat though as they can't keep losing and giving Luton et al the chance to close right in on them.

Exactly what Cooper has done since Forest have been in the Premier League.

Worrall is centre back and wasn't in the squad at all on Friday. He's been frozen out, that's where half these issues with Cooper started. Picking a fight with the club captain.

Did you watch the game? He defi itely played was one of the main talking points because he was trying to pick a fight with everyone!

Forest might genuinely manage the unthinkable and become even less watchable.

If they manage to get relegated from a Premier League that has those three in it, they're never living it down. 😂
