The second part of your post may be very true. However, the players not thinking it through that thoroughly is also entirely possible.

Brains and discretion aren't necessarily strengths of footballers. A bit like videoing yourself in a hotel room with Thai ladies and sending it to your mates....

Or kicking a cat...

Footballers really aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

Villa 2 Burnley 2

So much for that ludicrous media narrative of them doing a Leicester

Villa have spent 100’s millions, so it wouldn’t be doing a leicester regardless lol their achievement would be much closer to when Blackburn won the league than us doing so

Everton getting battered. Dyche in danger.

Wolves giving Everton a good beating

Completely outclassed them today with a great performance. Had a 4th ruled out for a slight offside too.

Shame we're going to lose Ait-Nouri and Hwang for a month now as they've both been brilliant recently.

I made a big thing of a siege mentality built at Everton due to the -10, since they've restored parity despite the -10 has the siege mentality been lost and complacency crept back in, would expect that from a Sean Dyche side though.

Very impressed with Wolves.

Glad for Gary O'Neil. Think he deserved better from Bournemouth and is doing a fantastic job at wolves.

Thoughts on him @The Bear

Also lovely to see Everton's purple patch is over and they can go back to being muck.

Really good.

It was a tough start with a poor run of results, but given he only came in 4 days before the start of the season it's understandable. What's been most impressive is he's started to build an identity and attacking style to us. He's improved players like Toti, RAN, Hwang and Lemina, and we have looked really good in recent games. Three straight wins in 7 days with 9 goals scored. It's a long way from recent years when we bored teams to death. Amazingly we're only one goal short of our tally of goals scored for the entire 22/23 season already which is a remarkable stat.

He's also seemingly very tactically astute and detail oriented in his preparations, he has the players working really hard for him and each other, and comes across well and easy to listen to in interviews.

Without those dodgy VAR decisions earlier in the season we could have easily been in 6th or 7th with a bit more luck.
