Premier League Thread 2023/2024

If Caceido has turned them down going to be interesting to see how Klopp spins this to the fans. Spent the summer saying they've missed out of Rice and Bellingham because apparently they can't compete financially. Go into the season with no recognised defensive midfielder after shipping goals in pre season.

Now they've offered more for Caceido than those two players.

And they'll probably have to go back to Southampton for Lavia after haggling over £5 million - who'll probably now ask for even more.

14th April: Klopp says "We cannot have six £100m players" and joked buying Bellingham would be like a child asking for a Ferrari for Christmas.

14th June: Bellingham signs for Real Madrid for £88.5m, potentially rising to £115

11th August: Liverpool agree a fee of £111 for Caicedo

You couldn't make this shit up.

Shearer calling Newcastle's season last year a miracle. No, Alan, finishing top four is a reasonable return when you spend hundreds and hundreds of millions on a football squad.

Every Newcastle fan will tell you that Steve Bruce is a terrible coach, the team he had, under a decent manager was easily midtable. Members of that squad are still regulars today. And as you say they've spent half a billion improving that squad too. There's this narrative they went from relegation fodder to CL in 18 months and its a miracle but they just got a competent manager and splashed the cash and turned a midtable team in to a top 4 team.

Sky sports copying foxestalk and tracking Harry Kanes plane to Munich.

Breaking news "Harry Kane is getting on a plane" "stay with us as later Declan Rice will be taking a shit and Reece James is taking his dog for walk"

Busy day at Chelsea.

Got the Caceido saga going on.

Cancelled Tyler Adams from Leeds last minute even though the medical had been done.

Now agreed terms with Olise at Palace.

Gallagher apparently leaving and maybe Kepa going too.

Liverpool willing to spend over £100 million on a player who isn't worth anything near it, in the process forcing their manager to justify earlier comments, only for that player to want to go somewhere else is glorious.

Surely they would have consulted the ladies team and other such groups before now?

What exactly are the ladies team going to say, when it might upset the people that pay them? We've all decided we don't want him at the club? As if that's going to make a blind bit of difference to their decision. Lip service bullshit.

Don’t know what I’m more fuming about. The fact they’ve made no effort to improve the Sky coverage - one of the worst 15 minutes of tv ive ever watched - or the new realisation we’re no longer part of this
