When we won League 1 we finished 5th in the championship the following season whereas before that we'd finished 15th, 16th, 19th and 22nd in the championship. We are capable of winning more matches than we lose in the PL, as we've seen. The worst thing about this is not just that we're in the 2nd division but that we shouldn't be here, it was easily avoidable. Generally though I agree with what you're saying, winning matches is always more fun. The locals aren’t taking it too well in Barnsley this morning, apparently he had made comments in the press about how he was committed to the long term development of the club. I’d have taken him here. Will be interesting to see what he does at Swansea. Martin alluded that the club has ambitions of developing and selling players, not to be contending for promotion. Funny enough at Barnsley, the manager that beat them in the play off final Darren Moore, could be their next manager. Which i'd be tempted to put money on. Be interested to know when these were, he probably thought they would get up in the play offs, in which case their upward movement would be his also. They always have their assets taken from them because of the size of the club.
