southampton team is better than ours, apart from Iverson, pereira, coady, doyle, justin, winks, KDH, NDidi, mavididi, iheanacho, vardy

We have more talented individuals imo, but they have a younger, hungrier squad, and as a unit look better than us right now (not that we have much evidence to go on due to our highly questionable pre season).

Let’s see what it’s like at the end of the transfer window. Still fancy us to win the league if we bring in enough creative midfielders and wingers in the next few weeks.

Be interesting to see how Bazunu does for them, he was genuinely on Wards level last season

It's pretty shocking that they've kept Bazunu as their no1. I think we were the only the side who didn't score against them last season, pathetic.

Let's see them 'perform' at this level. Then we can see.

Where are we getting 45 million from? It was 40 and 38 with add ins, which may or may not materialise. Southampton are sticking 50m or no deal. We bent over backwards and took it from Spurs and the Geordies. If ****ing Gordon is worth 50m Madders and Barnes were.

its a few million, not gonna matter

Shame we don't get to play this crap Sheff Wed team until November.

Lets see if Southampton 'perform' at this level when they actually face a decent side.

That was under Rodgers

I think some of it is player attitude. How any of them can honestly think after last season they 'should' be Premier league players is beyond me. The only way they should get that is to prove ut and get back there!

we quite literally have not played a competitive game this season yet they look a better unit than us? Interesting

Technically yes, attitude and application wise no (KDH and Nacho excepted). If they were we would not be in this division.

Southampton also got relegated and finished behind us.

Well if we are so superior we will beat them regardless.

It will certainly be interesting to see how we against one of last years contenders.

Yeah, this is going to get ridiculous.

And you will get teams , managers etc saying why wasn’t there more in their game compared to another .

I mean what is going to decide if there is 8 or 10 minutes as an example ?

Nah, they’re light years ahead of us apparently lollollol

Some of the takes on here are ridiculous, aren't they?

Declaring Southampton champions 30 minutes into a game against a side who squeaked into this division by a gnat's cock.

Performative pessimism that's every bit as nonsensical as those unironically thinking we're all aboard HMS Piss The League.

We sold our best 2 players, their squad is intact.
