Collymore Posted 7 November 2023 Share Posted 7 November 2023 Marcel needs to do more and take some players on. Either that or play him more central. He doesn't look like a senior player.

GingerrrFox Posted 7 November 2023 Share Posted 7 November 2023 It’s becoming clear that Petty needs to move on. Player development is clearly the number 1 goal but the U23/U21 record underneath him is quite clearly not good enough and constant poor results has a detrimental impact on development as losing can become habitual.

There's no way he's ready for first team football just yet, as much as we'd love that. I'd much rather he gets a couple more games under his belt for match fitness, ready for the December and January run of games where there will be plenty of opportunities for him to play. What do I know though? Maresca and the fitness team might think he's ready.

I had no issue with him going there - they have a strong record of giving 16/17 y o an opportunity.
