Foxes Trust Board comment on relegation and the message from the Club’s Chairman

We have been promised a Teams meeting while the clubs representatives are in Thailand.

What we share will be dependent on the clubs responses.

Thanks for the update on the club’s response.

This is also an interesting insight in itself. Committing to a Teams meeting avoids them having to put anything in writing so that the wider fan base can read their answers.

Please commit to at least one thing:

tell the club that you will be publishing a summary of the questions asked and their responses on your website.

Or , even better.... record it!

Still find it bizarre how Top feels it's more important to fly the squad off to Thailand to parade them around like animals at a circus than actually having a sensible and productive Pre-Season given the amount of change and the embarrassment of last season.

I wonder how impressed Bangkok is with a relegated team?

Just a thought, but it seems to me that the Foxes Trust are tiptoeing around because it's so hard to gain access on any meaningful level. Perhaps this - which I'd imagine isn't the Trust's fault - is the reason why many have come to think of them as an irrelevance. They're powerless, because the club don't need them to be empowered and, for a good while, none of us have needed a voice to challenge the club.

But, seeing as we do now, might it make sense to lay down their own terms a bit more clearly? If it's clear that they don't purely exist to sip tea and get fobbed off by a receptionist, it could easily become relevant again. In other words, rather than worry about the lack of emails arriving or the lack of members, be proactive in asking those awkward questions, and transparently. Be a voice for the fans, rather than lamenting the lack of interest in what little you have to say (which, as I say, isn't really the Trust's fault). Do the club really want that tersely worded statement that they are now refusing to engage with fan groups? I'd say they could achieve a lot more by being less apologetic, whether it be in strengthening their own hand or opening the door for other fans' groups to speak to the club on new terms. And if they are told to sod off and there's no constructive relationship, then what's changed? Other than that the board would know that their next chat with the fans, if they don't start to get things right, won't be a polite and pointless affair over tea and scones.

Oh for goodness sake, it's where we get our money from. Nothing Bizarre about that. Of course, the players are not " animals " but they are commodities and as such are bought and sold numerous times in their careers, I'm sure they don't feel oppressed on god knows how much a week. Football has become pure showbiz, and taking them to the country of the owners to further the club's interest with its massive market is pure business common sense.

You saw how many people were in the "Leicester end" at Noah's Ark the other day, right? It's time to bust this myth once and for all that Thailand is this huge untapped market of potential Leicester fans. If they aren't interested in us after we pulled off the greatest sporting miracle of all time then they definitely won't be again.

Time to stop flogging the dead horse and for the club to focus on building a loyal fanbase in its own postcode area that will throw money at it for life.

Anyone abroad who is following a team in another nation that they never see in person rather than supporting their local side is a bit odd imo - just look at our collection of Aussies, Scandinavians, Arabs, and whatnots. Weird folk.

But not as weird as them from Coalville.

We don't get the majority of our money from the sale of seats from our own fans either. Time to stop flogging this myth that we do.

If they wish to be 'open', the Foxes Trust should really answer some of the questions in this thread.

It's quite disappointing, tbh.

They'll answer what they answer
And they'll answer them when they answer them

If it was a massive market for us and we were so popular there as we've been told for 10 years, there would be more people there.

The market is in TV revenue the same as it is here. Gate money is neither here nor there when it comes to a club's finances which is why getting relegated is such a financial blow to us. If we had to rely on our paltry 32 thousand gates then we would never be able to buy and pay the fees or wages of most of our team at present.

He's probably been told we'll walk the Championship just by turning up.

I mean that's hardly groundbreaking stuff you've said there but the lack of turnout for the first game in Bangkok for us in however long shows the interest isn't there like we've been told. We'd get the TV money regardless of if we went on a silly ego trip or not.

So are Tottenham and Liverpool out there on a silly ego trip ?
