LCFC Women 2023-24 Season

...lots of passing because it is what they have been asked and trained to do, even if no one is in the space where they are passing to!!!

Screaming at the ridiculous decision they are taking, players look like they are blowing already, it is going to be a lot of pain in the second half, we need fresh legs as soon as possible.

It's really poor commentary. I once did a course and that was one of the things you Did Not Do!

not as poor as the director nearly missing a goal due to showing too many replays of the first, then missing a counter attack because they needed to show a close up of a defender then several replays of a keeper making a simple catch

You look at the crowd for this, as a top of the table clash and the general standards - the quality of the play, the 90s Central TV-level pictures and commentary - and the idea being spun that Women's football will attract the same sponsorship & revenues is for the birds (no pun intended). They totally have my backing but the mens and women's games are miles apart right now, it's going to be a slow progression to any sort of parity.

I mean they were not that far off before the FA put an effective ban on women's football for decades. The finalissima in April selling out so quickly, the support for the euros and the world cup, next Friday's game v Belgium being a sell out, the attendance arsenal got v Liverpool at the Emirates... The support base is there to be tapped into but requires clubs to buy in. Only us and Bristol use the same ground as the mens team as our main ground, even though some will put a few big matches in their mens man ground, and we only open the west stand. Once attendances come, money comes. There's huge advertising and TV money in the championship compared to some top flight European leagues, let alone to the likes of Serie B or Liga Secunda, because there's a support base there

They couldn't have advertised the Everton game anymore than they did, the WSL STs couldn't be any more attractively priced yet they're barely getting 2k in for some of the home games. I have no idea why they haven't ran the WSL games like they used to do the Family Night Football in the 90s/early 2000s. Kids for a quid, STHs in for free that sort of thing. Ticket giveaways in schools if they have to. Right now kids are unable to get general sale tickets & STHs are at a premium for the men's team so this would be the ideal platform to get them into the club.

Chaotic game with no real control throughout from either side, a poor advert for the women's game overall.

We'll be ok this season as WK has given us attacking intent,  but a long way to go.

...this Manchester City is a different kettle of fish, they were a lot better a few seasons ago, very much playing like the men's team!!!

There has been a big exodus with players leaving and long-term injuries, but previously they were a joy to watch if you like the type of possession play that we (our men's team) are currently employing at this moment.

Poor crowd today, a fair few Man City fans too. Appreciate it was on TV, mens team were playing but women really need to back it and support it. The 'footy mums' need to get the gate numbers up.
