Just got back, played well, great goal from Cayman. Ref was poor again, clear shove on Petermann in the box. Momiki was everywhere.

commentators kept going on about how experienced the ref was, kept thinking to myself every time that doesn't means she's good, O'Brien got booked for dissent but it didn't look like she did anything?

I saw one foul but wasn't much in it, booked her. Certainly no dissent. Ref also had a good view of Petermann being pushed in the back but didn't give a penalty.  Ref spent most of the first half having her decisions made by Brosnan in the Everton goal who was shouting for every little nudge or minor contact and 50/50.

Emilia Pelgander Makes Leicester Switch
LCFC WOMEN
Published 27 Jan 24

LCFC Women has strengthened its midfield options with the permanent acquisition of Emilia Pelgander following the expiration of her contract with Damallsvenskan outfit KIF Örebro, subject to league and international clearance.
- Swedish Under-23 international joins LCFC Women
- Central midfielder signs a three-and-a-half-year contract
- The 19-year-old joins from Damallsvenskan side KIF Örebro

The 19-year-old central midfielder has pledged her long-term future to the Foxes having signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at King Power Stadium following four productive years in Sweden’s top flight.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Pelgander said: “I’m really excited and grateful for this opportunity. I really liked my first talks with the Manager, discussing how Leicester play and the philosophy here, and I think it will be a good fit for me.

“It’s a style of football I like to play; aggressive pressure and trying to keep the ball, and I think Leicester have started a journey that I want to be on.”

An exciting prospect, the youngster makes the move to Leicestershire as a regular Swedish youth international having made 22 appearances for the Blue and Yellow's Under-19s and 23s.

Pelgander made her league debut for KIF Örebro in July 2020 and became the first player born in 2004 to play in Damallsvenskan. She would go on to make 84 appearances for the Örebro-based outfit in all competitions during her four years with the Club.

A breakthrough 2023 season saw Pelgander make 25 appearances for KIF Örebro as her team recorded a 10th-place finish.

She will now link up with her new team-mates at Belvoir Drive as the Foxes prepare to take on Everton away from home on Sunday 28 January (12:30pm GMT kick-off).

I know nothing about her, but the length of contract suggests it's considered she'll ultimately be an upgrade on one or more already at the club.

Interesting how contracts of this length are becoming increasingly common in the women's game.  Until recently it was season by season.

maybe they will move Sam Tierney back to CB, she signed as a defender

The way she was talking the other week she's gonna be playing even further up the pitch/a more attacking mid role rather than moving back to defence.

Bott/Cayman, Howard/Green, Thibaud, Nevin/Ale is obviously still too light in the middle but there's probably enough there with Bott & Nevin both having played at CB for previous clubs/country
