I can't see anything else but a sacking coming form this. Such a shame against what is our best season. Let's hope this doesn't affect the team too much. On a positive, our club should be an attractive proposition for a decent manager to come and continue the upward trajectory we are currently on.

If there's nothing in his contract that references such relationships, then it could be difficult to fire him, can't sack him for poor performance as we are sat mid table. Could go on for a while this.

I hope you're right but I would be shocked if there isn't anything relating to this contractually. Any role that comes with a duty of care will have contractual safe guards as standard I would have thought.

I've not kept up to date with any other allegations other than those against Willie Kirk and obviously Jonathan Morgan.

There's going to have to be a big shake up and probably quite a few bad apples will be exposed

Not going to name who it is I'm thinking of because litigious and I've no desire to be sued or get the forum sued, but the allegations have been around for years. Morgan was found out, Christy Holly in the US was as well, seems like Kirk will be too, but it's horrendously common place in women's football

its not that shocking really statistically a lot of people meet their partners at work (or at least they used to) and some of them will be a boss and an employee, it should probably be avoided in this era but I suspect football is no different to society in general

I would be surprised too mate but this is LCFC, the way we operate at times suggests we write contracts on the back of pizza boxes, I agree that I can't see it ending well for him though, reputational damage given the extensive media coverage, overseas news coverage too. Pretty certain the next manager will be a woman!

Given the rumours abound about other managers and coaches, including a very big name one, that's going to be a root and branches reform

Wonder if it’s the same one I heard. Happened to be very vocal this week as well

I get the argument that it happens in all sorts of workplaces (I was in one myself where there were 8 different couples in the same workplace of about 30 people) but you can't have a situation where a player is getting a through ball up the channel from the coach. In most normal workplaces, you're all contracted by the company and working under the same terms, your place there isn't dependent on the will of your boss. A coach's position is completely undermined if the other players know they're in a relationship with someone. It leads to resentment and the coach being questioned why he/she is consistently picking a player or giving them unfair treatment.

Like others have said its a huge shame because we'd been in decent form and were having our best season by a mile.

I've worked in a few places where 'your' boss could hire and fire without recourse to a higher level provided they follow the set procedures and budget.

I still think this is different as the team is more than those selected to play so careers can be killed through more subtle means.

For sure, I got fired from one job because I didnt get on with my supervisor, who unfortunately for me got promoted to manager, and within 3 days of that happening was fired with a vague "work not satisfactory", I had never been previously warned or anything, and got wrongful dismissal wages after contacting a legal aid firm, but of course didnt get my job back.  I had colleagues contacting me afterwards out of work asking me what happened as for them all they seen was me escorted away from my desk (as if I did gross misconduct).

I have also witnessed and know of many accounts of people getting jobs simply because they know the right person, I know of multiple companies who routinely dont advertise jobs as an example.
