Even in the one or two positions where we didn't have the best player (we might have had room for one or two Leeds players that season, for example), we had the 2nd or 3rd best players. If you ensure your team has among the best players in most positions on the pitch, a good manager will get you promoted. Exactly, Man City U21s cannot even win the papa johns trophy so a team full of 18/19 years olds is not the answer against Men in the championship.
