The thing is most of the 'old school' come out for the bigs games all stone island up yet when it comes to it shut themselves,I was a prominent member of the ybs when we started it up,was always us young lot Avin a row,we were game as ****,hear the young lot now are(I'm 30) and av mrs and kids and don't bother anymore,pisses me off that you get the so called old school sitting in family stand with the kids in the s.i gear,yet when push comes to shove and it's gonna kick off say 'av got me kids',that's well and fine but then don't wear the clobber to say your a lad if your a has been,most so called lads ain't even as a row,gaur enter that out of 50 lads(hate it when folk say there was 200 there today)only a dozen tops will av it,the rest **** off back to the tavern and av the cheek to say they've just 'had it'!

Building up to the Cov game this week, wanted to bump this thread on the off-chance those at the club want to gauge feelings/views on these two topics. I realise FT cannot fully represent the overall fanbase (the club could have of course consulted fans on these two subject points) and I don't feel particularly optimistic we will see changes to the matchday experience this season. Ultimately for myself and others it's about the club restoring a credible reputation, in line with the reset which has been required on the pitch.

No one who runs the club should forget the West Ham fans singing the goal music every time one of their players skied it over the bar. It should have been the moment that broke their resolve when it came to the goal music. They literally took the pi55 out of it for most the match, which made us playing it again when Faes scored even weirder.

Not my personal taste but I don't get all the hate of the clappers and music. Yes it might be cringe and cheesy but at the end of the day it does help what little atmosphere is generated inside the stadium. (Puts tin hat on and awaits replies)

You are bothered about fans whose club have a massive bubble machine at home games, couldn’t care less what other fans think personally

There's been a lot of cringe down the years, I suppose some fans saw the foxy lady cheerleaders as that, I think what gets to fans about the goal music is the fact that it's a way of controlling what most fans goto Football matches for, being able to celebrate a goal in whatever way you want. 

West Ham fans gave it what it deserved.

Time to bust this myth. Goal music is effectively crowd control that stifles the natural lift and desire to stand, jump, chant and carry on the general good feeling we all get when our team score. Instead, people sit back down and shut up the moment the music stops.

 

As for clappers, they drown out any attempt to get songs going for more than a few seconds. They're both atmosphere killers.

I’m referring to the fact it happened. Couldn’t give a monkeys about your feelings towards their fans. I hope they keep their stupid bubble machine. It’s lovely seeing bubbles around the stadium when goals are disallowed through var.

Have you noticed that they must have intellectual bubble machines. When VAR is not required, the bubbles tend to rise up into the sky. When VAR is required, the bubbles tend to congregate near the floor waiting for the decision.

If anything, the fact that a club that uses bubbles when they score took the p*ss out of our goal music should be cause for concern. Even they thought it was ridiculous.
