They also spent 34 years in the top fight and won the FA cup many years before we did. They have had a tough twenty years but are now generally on the up and their stadium is arguably better than ours.

34 years and only finished in the top half a handful of occasions

most pointless existence

Can't really show any more commitment than buying season tickets every year regardless.

I think you'll see some bigger holes in the SK1 Panda Pop drinking section as attendance and paying for such is mostly optional

Why do you always slag off SK1? Lose your seat or something?

What would you sooner be mid table PL or Championship. Just being in the PL is a sign of success. So many on here were not happy if we were not challenging the top six . When we came up we were almost relegated first season back , won the PL and were then heading for relegation again the next season . I believe this club is normally a mid table premiership club but too many are not satisfied with that.

Can you name anything of note from that. They had amazingly have never been in top six of division for nearly 60 years until they got relegated to League 2

I've blocked An Sionnach because of their wum tendencies.  I saw a women's FA Cup final at the Ricoh.  It is  not a superior stadium to the KP.  It lacks soul.   Perhaps the KP does too but it's bigger and owned by the club.

Not sure ours is owned by the club either?

It's probably the best fixture we could have got in the sense that we won't have anything to lose - given form and confidence, it's possible to argue that we are the underdogs here - if we lose it will be convenient to put it down to 'teething troubles' and we'll have got one of our toughest  fixtures out of the way; a draw could be viewed as a decent result under a new manager etc etc; and of course a win is a win and would be a great way to start the season.

For perspective, imagine if we had drawn, say, Hull, and got beaten, it would feel a lot more disappointing.

So you go to football because it has some hotel, casino and arena attached to it. Its ****ing more soulless than our place and that takes some doing. Its in the fuxking arse end of nowhere. With no redeeming features.

Absolutely no way I'm having that place is better than ours. They were better of at Highfield Rd.

It was certainly a much better atmosphere at Highfield Road despite the fact it was a shithole

Technically not in the name of the club.

The Srivaddhanaprabha family have bought the ground from an American pension fund manager through their K Power Holdings company.

Yes. But clearly not owned by an unrelated third party as it previously was - the club and k power holdings are owned by the family - so to argue it's anything but ours is deeply pedantic.  The OP was in relation to the ricoh not being owned by coventry FC, but being owned by an entirely separate entity - a completely different situation to us, where the stadium and the club are different part of the same umbrella company.

I do not have any so called WUM tendencies , I just do not get tribal about football. Slagging off other teams is a total waste of time. We need to show we are better on the pitch , we haven't been doing that. Coventry will come to the King Power believing they can kick our arse. All the yah booing on here will make no difference at all.

Wouldn’t necessarily agree given EFL’s recent punishments on owners selling grounds to connected companies to the owners clubs. See Derby County and Aston Villa, even Bury.

this shows just how little fans understand about club ownership and assests.

Quite depressing given the many examples of clubs who have been made homeless by the football club not owning the ground but their wonderful overlords who one day use it as a chess piece..........................could never happen here obviously

                       Iversen

        Justin    Souttar     Faes

Ricardo     Ndidi     KDH     Kristensen

                      Barnes

             Vardy      Nacho

I'd play Madders but his mind is probably elsewhere right now :dunno: and I wanna see Barnes play behind the strikers, he won't get as tired as he sometimes does outwide and thus be more available.

I haven't claimed to be an expert on club ownership and assets - just pointing out that our situation is not the same as coventry's.... it doesn't take an economics degree to know that king power (the club) and k power (the stadium) are both mutual interests of the  Srivaddhanaprabha family, as opposed to being entirely independent like coventry.

I didn't feel like the original question was requesting an MBA analysis, just to understand whether the club had regained control over the stadium or if it still remained in the hands of some investment bank or something.  If you feel such a response is necessary, please disregard my comments and write your own in depth reply...

Got a cathedral that's half old and half new thanks to the Luftwaffe. A 60s decaying shopping centre with a naked bint on a horse. Ghost Town.

I haven't been to Coventry in decades - I doubt I've missed much :P
