He's not been good enough but it's not his fault he was picked. Abuse of Ward is becoming a bit harsh, not seen anything to suggest he isn't a nice bloke.

It's hitting the same levels as "Ormondroyd's Wife" all those years ago.

With respect, this is the only thing I've read that gets close to frothing at the mouth.

Didn't even intend for this to be a Danny Ward thread.

They're just a bit rubbish and post odd things at odd times. New kit post on relegation day is a better example.

Wish I never bothered starting the thread, didn't intend for it to land this way at all.

I'll give you the new kit on relegation day, but that would have been the marketing team as much as the social media team. As I with everything else though I'm not really sure what you want them to be posting right now as i get the feeling nothing would be good enough. As for posting things at odd times, I'm not sure when you expected them to wish a current player happy birthday other than on his birthday.

I think the daftest thing the club has done recently is release a new range in the club shop called "New Era" when we've just got relegated. I just laughed it off though. I'm far more interested in moving on players and bringing them in ready for next season than someone in the social media team taking 2 minutes out their day to post a photo of Danny Ward and writing Happy Birthday. You know what I hope he did have a great day.

If you search LCFC twitter for Birthday (link to the search below), I don't think anyone doesn't get a birthday tweet from the current squad, along with some past legends. Even Rodgers got one in January when he was viewed as a toxic character pre sacking. There's even on for Tete and he was only here 5 minutes. Bertrand too ffs! Its more notable to leave players and staff out, as its points to an obvious issue.

I think this all speaks to a wider issue with football fans and social media that a club can't make a post about a player without abuse being thrown. Like the racist abuse players get, it would he like saying if they don't like it get off social media. No it's not their fault, and it's not Danny Wards fault idiots can't control themselves online.

I agree, but you're living in a dream world and completely blind if you can't see it's going to happen.

Our social media team seems to quite comfortably fall into this category.

Says more about those doing the abusing than it does about the social media team.

In fairness though, you could argue that if we survived on the final day in that kit people might be more inclined to want it.

That's the brand though. They do caps and hats for all the American sports leagues too, among other things.

The best ironic new launch is a wave of 02/03 nostalgia as we look forward to our first season back in the Football League in almost a decade (and giving Matt Heath a pre-printed shirt).

Agreed.

It's like having a picnic at the beach and then being surprised seagulls showed up though.

I'm sure to be honest that abuse from faceless people won't affect them though, that's if he even reads it.

I've enjoyed the earlier stuff seeing Maresca do the training sessions etc, but have to agree the Thailand videos are as tone deaf as the trip itself. They've stayed in Premier League mode in every sense haven't they?

I do think we have a really level headed manager and set up at coaching level but my biggest fear is the attitude of everyone above again. Nothing has changed from last season.

I won’t be too bothered if they stay in PL mode and deliver performances of PL level and get promoted

We’ve not delivered PL level performances for 2 years.

Exactly my feelings. I don't think we are going to be anywhere near top 6 this season, purely because of the fooking arrogance filtering down from the Top of the club.

That's the best case scenario. Let's hope that's what does happen.

I don't think it's so much a Premier League mentality as it is an arrogance. An arrogance that was prevalent throughout the last year thinking we couldn't possibly go down with that squad and manager.

This trip to Thailand is anything but the signs of competency.

Irrelevant. Plastering New Era all over the website and social media days after relegation looks stupid.

No need for personal insults though is there.

The club have had a tie in with the brand for a good three four years.

So maybe hold back on plastering it all over the website this summer, just a thought.

Yeah but to a demographic it’s a recognisable brand which specialise in caps. American sports already have their kit. I’d says it’s a rare example of actually being aware of a trend rather than knocking out haiiwaiian shirts as per early this summerb
