LCFC FINED £880K....

Think you’ll find plenty of fans do this on a matchday.

Concourse prices being the main example.

"if they have the chance to get exactly the same product for a lower price?"

I think people are daft for buying stadium food and drinks too, but they don't have a choice if they're that desperate for something to eat or drink while a game's going on.

If you know two places that can sell you the same football shirt and what the prices are, then you go to the cheaper place.

I'm not saying it does but they must think we are naive to think that a deal with a huge national retailer would not be known about at director level.

They didn't say that, they said CURRENT. They probably aren't currently employed because of a massive F'UP that cost the club a large mount of money. The furthest it would go would be commercial director (we got a new one in early 2019 after these deals happened... coincidence). They might have run past it in a meeting, but someone like Susan Whelan wouldn't be looking through every single detail of such of deal, they don't have the time.

The irony is, they've actually now set a precedent in which the Premier League, Sky, BT and Amazon could be sued for the exact same thing. And we ****ing shouild.

This isn't a precedent.  Burnley were stopped over 20 years ago from making any sort of arrangement whereby third party suppliers were restricted from buying at more than the club shop paid, or from restricting selling at a discount on club shop prices.  Except in rare circumstances (books used to be one, but not any more) once the product is sold, you can't put restrictions on the terms and conditions of the purchaser selling them on.

Burnley got round it by refusing to sell to anyone except through the club shop, so JD Sports and others couldn't sell them at all.

Football broadcasts are not covered by the exact same law as football shirts, so there's no precedent there.

Yes they do, they can buy the same product cheaper from Costcutter before the match.

Whelan signs of every little aspect of a tifo. Colour, size of flag you name it.

If she is going into detail like that then I would hazard a guess she knew about these dealings.

Tifos are a part of the club's image and they're shown to millions of people on a Premier League match day.

No surprise the CEO wants to make sure nothing untoward is shown.

Design I get yes to a degree, absolute technicalities and heavy detail surprises me that it goes so far up the chain.

Maybe if it were a small partnership with a local firm you'd be right but a deal with a major retailer will have input from the very top. There is absolutely no way the CEO did not know about this. They are using the previous Commercial Director as cover.

You can't pop out to Costcutters for a pie while the game's going on, can you?

In your own free time, you can choose where you buy a football shirt - the place where it's cheaper or the place where its more expensive.

Difference being those parties have a competitive tender every x amount of years - the law which dictates what can be shown and when goes back to the Football League and subsequently UK Law with its protected rights.

Well they are to an extent; it's just they have to do a competitive tender which has to be advertised and comply to a timeframe.

This LCFC and JD arrangement was an under the table agreement.

This makes me really want to suggest Union FS put a hidden image of the Birch flashing his cock in the next one
