How's this guy supposed to be a replacement for Barnes??

He doesn't even shoot the ball straight into the keeper's arms every chance he gets...

Makes the excitement of tete look dull 🤪

Bring back Tete, all is forgiven.

I wonder how Tete would get on in the Championship?

Hypothetical question

...he would still be doing what he did last season!!!

Holding on to the ball too long, being sent down the line and an inability to beat the player in front of him. So far as he is concerned it seems, going out on loan until he retires still pays well. No worries about making friends, he will not be in a place too long and the fact that he has to be making readjustments every time he signs a new contract is a built-in ready-made answer to his non-performance.

From a French ITK journalist close to Montpellier. It appears the hold up is due to the fact Rudkin is proposing to pay £50 per month for the next 200 years in instalments 😆

FFS - is he signing or not?  So it’s perfectly fine for our DoF to have an happy ending, but we are still waiting for ours….

Less TV in the Championship so the refs are under less close scrutiny. Which probably means a gorilla of a championship full back would eat him alive and get away with it. He should stick to more gentlemanly football.

Can't see that there's anything wrong in forcing through a payment structure that benefits us, exactly what chelsea did with Fofana.  The club can't win, they try to be smart and tough, and are balled out for faffing!

When you’re dealing with 6 million euros does it really matter though? More benefit  to having him intergrated into the side and learning his role within the team.

Haven't heard rumours of any other clubs trying to sign him so Susan and Rudders are in a strong position to haggle. Might be glad they did if he turns out to be a dud.

Hope we get that work permit sorted :fc:

Don't worry, he's on a boat from Calais. Only thing is we have to stop him doing a stop in Rwanda first

I'm sure when you're on a warning for FFP transgressions, every little bit of clever accounting helps. A day here or there of integration (especially with the team being overseas) might be a small price to pay if it means we can spend a few million extra elsewhere - at this level, that could be an entire player :dunno:  I'm sure it's been well considered and justified.

And yet they'll be slaughtered for jeopardizing our promotion challenge by denying Maresca as much time as possible to work with him!

FFP was to do with European football. We’ve just had 80 million in for 2 players. If he was costing 50 million fairplay, try and get best payment structure. 6 million euros, just get him in.

On paper that sounds logical but when you consider the 80m will barely cover a years wage bill ... I dont think we are quite out of the woods because of it, id expect we still have to tread carefully. An extra 2 m upfront might be the difference between us being able to get another good player on loan.

Plus our old party trick of using Maquire to release promised transfer funds early is unlikely possible anymore.
