Faes is still a liability then.

did you watch the game or just post this for a laugh because he was solid and didn't put a foot wrong, in fact his passing out from the back was a pleasure to watch.

We have a striker problem at the moment, Vardy still can't score and Daka.... same as before.

Our only hope is Nacho 🤷

Help me kelechi you’re our only hope.

thought the first half was great, quick passing, coady looks like he wants to run the game, second half I thought Rodgers was back.

Yes that was very noticeable for me. Stolarczyk took risks no doubt, but he released the ball with first time passes, breaking a line or two while also dishing out the odd heart attack. But Iversen literally stands on the ball, waits 5 seconds and then knocks it square a centre half who comes to get the ball of him. The opposition are in shape and then the football becomes ponderous

Iversen is a good shot stopper, but we need someone who is a modern sweeper keeper. It was hammered home even more for me after watching that

Which is exactly how Wes Morgan used to play the ball.  He was under no pressure which i guess makes life easier, but equally there was no need to rush, especially as we seemed to be trying to slow the game down, last half hour - remember how bad we were at holding out late in games?

It wasn't a great match, it was a bit subdued and lacklustre.

But, I was in the home end, 2 rows back from the pitch and about 10 yards from our bench.

Enzo was VERY vocal. Giving praise where it was due and he was visibly frustrated at times too.

I'll be honest, I'm sceptical about his appointment, but I like the way he works on the touchline.

It isn't going to happen overnight, it's going to take months. But we know the Championship is a weird league.

We could be 12th at Christmas, then it could click.

Let's see what happens, but whatever anyone thinks, good or bad, he's here now and will need time.

After waiting too long to pull the trigger last season, do you think we'll put up with 12th at Xmas? There'd be outright war in the stands, and many, many questions asked - of the owners first and foremost, then of the manager. People would be pointing out that very few newly relegated sides start seasons that badly and still go up. In fact, very few sides that go up in general are 12th at Xmas. I reckon the owners would either panic under the pressure, or the place would descend into civil war and the situation would become untenable, regardless of whether or not things were on the verge of clicking.

A slow start might be understandable. It's unlikely to be tolerated for long, though. Especially if we haven't invested in long-term projects - which is indicative of the need for short-term success, naturally - and the football is oddly reminiscent of Sven/Rodgers. I'm not sure we needed to invite those comparisons, to be honest, though I'd also be loath to read too much into a first pre-season game!

So we just sack managers every 3 months?

Like I said, I'm not convinced by Maresca but what else do we do?

Alex Ferguson should've been sacked by Man Utd, but wasn't...

Yes, that's an extreme, but let's see what happens.

I'm mainly saying this because some people are furios we didn't spank Northampton Town 10-0

Is that down to the play style though? I’d argue it was the poor finishing rather than the set-up. Ndidi should’ve scored, Praet, Vardy & Daka all missed good chances.

Fighting a losing battle with some people, just goes to show the lack of intelligence and footballing brain people have on this forum

I think people still underestimate the sorry state Rodgers has left us in. This is going to take some time to undo his cluster****

Spot on.

Rodgers and the hierarchy left the club in a completely fooked up state. It’s disgusting that Rodgers goes onto Celtic and Rudkin isn’t sacked.

I guess we have to hope for the best going forward

My worry when we brought Enzo in was whether some of the most uncultured fans in English football would give him chance to implement his style of play. I thought we might hear grumbles once the season started. Not after 2 weeks of training with players coming back at different times and a 1-0 win where the opposition looked as potent as Hugh Hefner without the viagra.

Has Top treated himself to a season ticket at the Cobblers then ?

Nobody was crap , Doyle looked lost on the touchline. What was that all about? He is no full back. Northampton played OK I thought but we had an obvious edge in class. Albrighton could get another three or four years in div1 but will rarely play for us. We need a new striker and if Barnes goes , we need one urgently.

Two new strikers for starters
