Double Decker

Spurs in Thailand

Recommended Posts

I guess they will rearrange for tomorrow.

On a more practical note, the persistence with fielding both Praet and Castagne (planned as LB this time I'm guessing) is very curious. To a lesser extent Faes too.

I can only imagine that all three are expected to stay. If there was any suggestion to the manager they were likely to move on, you'd plan without and then it'd be an added bonus if they were still here after deadline day

No, but we should not be there in the first place.

We shouldn't and I thought that as soon as these fixtures were announced towards the back end of last season.

The biggest thing for me was I knew we were down, I'd accepted we we down but we have a game against Liverpool 4 or 5 days before our leagues season starts. There was definitely a touch of arrogance when these games were arranged in that the club didn't take into account that there was a string possibility of us not being a premier league team.

Any pre season tour of Thailand, for whatever reason, if we were going to do it should have been done already and we should be back at home now (not that the weather is much better lol) preparing against English sides playing a way we are more likely to face and focussing on our new systems, tactics etc and the usual "Glamour" tie being played next week at home.

No, as owners of the club it's King Power's responsibility (and in their best interests) to make sure their investment is put to good use by ensuring the squad/team/club has thorough preparation. Otherwise, how on earth do they get a return on their investment? If we don't succeed, they don't get the right brand awareness.

Because the club have a good track record of doing what is best for the club?  Yes, the football is what it's all about, but equally, as a business it's natural that they want to use the club to promote the business, not to mention the fact that they will see this as an opportunity to raise the profile of the club in asia.

The lack of investment last season was a business decision which they made knowing that the club could suffer in the short term.  Without KP there's no LCFC, at least not how we've enjoyed it since they came in.

I'm not talking about formal FA rules here, it's not 1979 anymore - this is business, all business - why else do you think we're playing in such an inappropriate (football-wise) tournament.  KP don't run our club just to put on football games for a few people from aylestone, it's a global business - marketing, advertising, profits.

By "a few people from Aylestone", you mean our entire existing fanbase, of course.

If it is "all business" then putting this circus on for the benefit of *literally* a few people from Thailand when we desperately need proper pre-season preparation is an absolutely appalling business decision.
