Laughable if anyone thinks Iversen or Ward are better than him. I still think Jakub eventually will be the best keeper out of the 4 but he needs games still and another loan where he plays in a team that wants to play from the back will bring him on no end.

And you base that on what exactly ? Gut feeling/ stats/ your goalkeeping coaching record ?

In defence of the kid, it was his first competitive match against a Team that will score more than 4 against better teams than us this year.

Their three main stikers cost more than our whole team, not counting Diaz & Gakpo.

We have goalkeeping coaches to identify the kids shortcomings and Iversen, Ward & Smithies to support him as well.

BUT, if we give him the same treatment we've given Ward, we may as well send him back now. Goalkeeping is all about confidence and that can come from the terraces.

Give the Boy a chance.

It wasn’t a competitive match.

Did Ward get treated badly? The lad was a ****ing laughing stock and we gave him 28 games?

But he also has to expect and be shown,he still has to fight for his place.

I for one still want Him & Iversen to be needing to compliment each while competing against each other for game time..

Leaving out pathetic ,cynical bias remarks from so called fans...which does nobody any favours...

The amount of games our two main keepers will be ivolved in this year will be a chance for both I hope. Cup Games, it will be interesting if there is a rotatation of the Two and hopefully we'll see some of our younger players involved in them as well.

Obviously he takes risks, more with his positioning than his passes occasionally but I wasn't overly concerned. Against teams where we dominate he's going to be useful.

Needs to make sure he does the keeper basics right though.

Part of us giving the ball away was down to the people receiving the pass rather than the pass itself.

Just a quickie, he did have a few good games before the World Cup that probably helped however "we" didn't give him the game time, Rodgers did,  "we" sarcastically applauded if he saved or caught the ball.

Back to my point - Goalkeeping is all about confidence and that can come from the terraces.

The home crowd will give him plenty of support. However on here he will get stick but they all do , so nothing unusual. He won't give a monkeys about our opinions because he won't read them.

Compared with 80s and 90s, Ward got off very lightly.

Ask Mark Bright. Jimmy Willis. Paul Reid. Or more recently, Rachid Ghezzal.
