I mean yeah, we are getting absolutely smashed by Liverpool but let's have it right, there are a lot of championship teams that would give them a better game than we have, friendly or not.  We are all over the place.  This is such a poor game to play before the season opener.  Any team with a bit of fight in them will turn us over more often than not this season.  We need a miracle in terms of players in and out over the next few weeks

This is just a carbon copy of games from last season other than we have no threat going forward now: 

 

start off ok - check 

give the ball away in midfield so easy - check

Conceding one goal and fall to bits - check

set piece conceded - check 

 

whoever thought it was a good idea playing friendly against Liverpool right before the season starting really needs to look at themselves

Ward was the worst keeper based on xG in Europe last season at one point.

Interesting how the ball over the top has been our most effective tactic, cutting out Liverpool’s press and getting through their high line. 
 

When we’ve played it about in midfield, their superior pressing and quality has come through.
