Because if you can’t do the very kushty job that’s been set up for you, and enjoy the very privileged benefits it affords you, maybe you should look at another career. Let alone play for my club.

Whats he not done? As far as i know Ruud has banished him from the squad and being at games because he doesnt want to uproot his family while his wifes just had a baby

Because the club had already agreed when he signed that he could travel from Hertfordshire and his Mrs has just had a baby. Why does that make Winks a cvnt? Sounds like a massive scapegoat for Ruud being a shite manager to me

But why feel the need to post pictures. Does he think he is the only new father out there

That's what I think, too. Winks by no means blameless, but just looks a pathetic and ill-timed attempt by Ruud to try and exert some sort of authority. Either that or Ruud has tried to make it look like our issues are down to attitude rather than his pathetic tactics.

That said, I don't want to see either of them at the club next season.

I just don’t get the baby part, if he wants to spend more time with his child why spend 18 hours a week driving? Which is the same time he would spend if he stayed overnight at the ground, the numbers don’t add up.

If you really want those 18 hours back, you buy a house in the area and live 10 minutes from the training ground, then everyone wins.

In the current situation everyone loses including Harry’s partner and child.

We used to have 4/5 players travel from Manchester everyday under a strict manager in Pearson. Its a none issue whatsoever being made an issue by a shite manager to deflect from himself

Certainly shouldn't deflect that RvN has to go

Perhaps winks should have thought about all of this before signing for the club. If he can’t be arsed to live close by, then why bother? I’d be glad to see the back of him.

Bang on if he doesn't like it get fu$%d he won't be missed

RVN could fall out with his own shadow. He's made enemies throughout his career, usually with colleagues too. Winks is clearly a bad egg but a decent manager could (has) made good use of him.

All being well, neither will need to be anywhere near Leicester next season.

All this reminds me of David Unsworth back in the day. He wanted to move from West Ham back to Everton because his wife was missing the area. Saw an interview with Kasey Keller who just scoffed. He had moved 6000 miles to play in England.

Mods please just close this the thread. Winks and Ruud are both twats. We all know this and there isn't any need for further discussion. Both hopefully gone before next season.

But he's right though, if you can't commit to staying a night at Seagrave before the game whats the point?

As I said, I don't want to see either of them at the club next season. That said, I would say that this wasn't an issue last season when we were doing okay, and it wouldn't be a problem now if we had secured safety. It's a bit of a red herring, imho.

Disappointed in Winks.

Thought he was one of the good eggs. Seemed to care last season and looked like a good influence.

We’d helped him resurrect his career, he was one of our best players last season. It seemed like it was working well for everyone.

But then this season he’s shown himself to be an absolute tool. Get him gone with the rest as that big broom sweeps through the squad in the summer.

Winks is an Enzo system player, just doesn't fit in with this season's style or most used formation. He's a specific system player, he needs to move on.

I backed him a bit with the Hotel stay. But this is indefensible.

Club policy denotes all playing staff attend games. Even Fofana did this when he was on strike.

Shows the true nature of the man. Misread it.

A couple of times I've met him now and thought he's a right mardy arse.

Winks said he was going to buy a house in Nottingham to the club when we signed him but then back tracked and never moved. The club have been making it known that there is an expectation to live within a certain commute to Seagrave for some time now.

In that case, I'd say that obviously Winks is in the wrong - especially if it's a promise he made to the club. That said, could this not have waited until the summer? Would it not have been better to have one of our better players onside for the run-in before giving him an ultimatum in the summer? Surely then would be the time to see "look, you either commit, or you find yourself a new club closer to home."

Obviously hindsight is always a wonderful thing, but was now a great time to make this issue a really big issue?
