The manager started him ahead of Reid making your point sort of pointless

Have a nice Sunday buddy

Nice twist on words, you said he was playing his way into the team, I said he should have already been in the team.

I will do thanks.

Ayew has strength though that can be equally as problematic for tiring defences to deal with. Reid at this stage seems to be the one I'm not sure where he fits in. El Khannouss and Bounanotte are the creative outlets, Fatawu the maverick. Hmmmm

I agree with this. Especially the bit about Ayew. His strength and abilities to hold the ball versatility etc are useful and offer something different. I’m not sure I’d describe Fatawu as maverick. Yes he has the inconsistency that comes with his age but he is a rare talent. Once he settles into this division he will be the fire.

How Steph can’t get a start under this wretched manager is beyond me. I know he is inconsistent but at least he is decent at one end of the trajectory, Ayew and Reid are mediocre on their best day.

Exactly. Ajew and Reid have already proved they are unremarkable at this level. Mav might be the same as well but at least let him have a go.

Ayew is good at protecting leads we’ll never have, winning fouls and Reid is really good at… at… err at…

Reminder that Cooper benched him for the first 3 matches of the season by the way. Now he's doing the same to Fatawu.

It's extremely worrying that a professional coach couldn't see what even the thickest of our supporters knew - that Stephy is one of,.if not the, best player.

BdCR FFS first two games. A scandal.

The whole only playing one of our two best attacking threats at a time so we can be the Premier League mediocrity retirement home experiment is absolutely stunning.

Seems to be this bizarre idea about having a strong bench to effect the game later.

I remember Stuart Pearce talking about it when he with Moyes at West Ham and how now it's a squad game and your bench is as important as your starting 11 because they're the players you can use later to change the game.  I think the fact him and Moyes are out of a job now is a good indication of there being a problem with this kind of thinking.

If you've got 25 players of equal standing and ability then yeah, fire away, be tactical with your setup.  But if you have clearly better players for the job then put the best 11 out that you can, and maybe you won't have to use your bench to affect the game as much later on.  And if you do, you make do with what you have. Don't hinder your starting 11 on the premise you might have to change things, not even knowing at that time what those changes will need to be.

This cant be it because Fatawu barely played today and Ayew stayed on the pitch.
