Wilfred Ndidi

Recommended Posts

What a transformation Wilf!!!! Fab to see him loving playing football again with a big smile on his face. I think the teaming of him, Mavididi, Fatawu and Daka is exciting! They are all clearly close too and it shows as they click and work well together!

would be a madness if wilf has pulled out of the afcon when he might not be here next year

surely not

If he is 3 weeks away from being able to play Nigeria might not want to tie up a squad place I suppose.  They have already called up a replacement according to the Nigerian press.

Not really sure if this is good news or not... I suppose it depends on the injury. If he's back in 3 weeks and Nigeria go on to the finals, it would be a good thing but if it's a long injury and he's out longer than he would be on International duty...

What makes it weirder is that it's him AND Nacho, alongside Fatawu rumoured to have declined a call up.

Ferguson and Wenger both used to do this all the time.  Players would pull out of International with a niggle then after an extra weeks rest be magically fit again for the next league fixture.

Out of friendlies and qualifiers, not tournaments.

True but tournaments for European players are outside of the league season and if you think back to that Man Utd team of the 90’s the majority were English.

We were expecting to be without him anyway

best case he’s out for two/three weeks and gets some rest and then comes back.

would be tough for him to have an injury that keeps him out of the tournament but it  isn’t so bad that he’s fit for Ipswich in 20 days time .  Maybe we could just about get away with that

Accusations..not facts.

plus Sporting injuries, can be like that..

Ndidi drawn out injury & history wise carries quite a lot of baggage..

He has to be nursed, and their clubs can do it better…

Many injuries today, 40-50years ago career over,

Since PL ( coincidently & slowly) sport medicine has improved

now prolonging careers is more obtainable, but with periods of outages..

I wish that medical  knowledge was there in my day…
