Some nice football at times but still feel we’re not creating enough chances considering the dominance. I’m warming to the style of play but wonder if it will work with better quality teams that press harder. Early days, and still a work in progress but encouraging start for Marescaball.

A year ago this month we had absolutely no way of breaking down Stockport County, and only narrowly beat them due to them being slightly more shit at penalties.

Hugely impressive.  Let's not forget last season we laboured past a few teams worse than Burton.  Controlled, quick, passing was excellent.  Dropped off a bit last 30 but game was done by then so that's fine.

 

The funny part is, this team, would smash last season's Leicester, even with your Madison's, tielemens and Barnes etc.  There's just energy and direction now which was missing for 18 months. 

 

Also, whilst it is only Burton, there isn't that much difference between them and the bottom half of the championship.  Promising times.

What did Albrighton say?

 

Think letting him going out on loan when we needed some character around was a mistake. The margin we went down by was so fine you never know, having someone around willing to kick the others up the arse might actually have made a difference.

So clear to see, and positive, that the players are buying into the philosophy of the manager and making it effective. So easy on the eye when it comes off. Thankfully for us retaining possession and wanting to move the ball through the lines and progress up the pitch seems to be the priority. 

It was good just to see us playing as one unit for a change.
