Just had a lengthy chat with Andy Booth in Huddersfield Hospitality. Played for this lot and Sheffield Wednesday in the Premier League. Never realised he was within a whisker of being signed by Martin O’Neill as Emile Heskey’s replacement. Stories he told me about Martin were hilarious. Knees shot apparently and City wanted an up front then appearance deal and lost out to Wednesday, who paid all up front. Won’t mean much to the younger amongst us but older supporters would know about him.
