Odds on special markets are drive. By all sorts of trash, if you went to the local shop next to Stamford bridge and stuck £300 on Mourinho you’d close the market

There's a strong rumour going down that Di Zerbi is Chelsea's preferred choice, he's the 'mystery 4th candidate'.
We all know how Chelsea love to poach Brighton's staff, best players and so this would make sense as to why they dropped Poch so fast after Di Zerbi announced his departure the week before.
He fits their system better than McKenna and Maresca, highly wanted by the board including Eghbali.

Yeah I know. But the fact that the odds are swinging around so much and no candidate has been odds-on yet suggests that nobody has a clue about how this one is going to go...

De Zerbi makes more sense.

But read there is concern about De Zerbi being more of a loose cannon and difficult to manage. So another way of thinking is they get a similar style of football from Enzo but they feel they can manage him more easily as he’s less established.

Another thing I read on X was it’s always been De Zerbi and the other candidates have been rumoured to make him more acceptable. Doubt that but interesting theory.

Love the fact that the 'mystery' 4th candidate is someone who has left a club, and who's current career won't be ruined by being name checked all over socials.

I know, it’s hilarious, I’ve got images of a game show on chelsea tv, “If you don’t fancy Enzo, McKenna or Frank, you can open our mystery box…

It could be alonso, though be warned, it could be warnock. Are you willing to gamble tod?”

Why doesn’t one of these outlets just ask him straight out, rather than spending their time regurgitating each others stories.

Because none of them actually know anything and they are just making up stories for clicks and regurgitating the ones that get the most interaction

De Zerbi does make a lot of sense and everything seems to fit on how it's panned out. But if true, to unsettle two newly promoted sides managers so publicly is nothing short of tw*tish

McKenna’s got interest from 3 clubs, it’s more us they’ve unsettled directly. But that’s  classless Chelsea for you.

Enzo was only the favorite so the clueless punters would throw money for him....the betting companies probably counting their money knowing RDZ would be the one.

All this Crap the last 2 days throwing Enzo around social Media 🙄

De Zerbi is now favourite with the bookies. It makes sense, too - Enzo and De Zerbi are close friends who espouse the same footballing philosophy. The main differences between them are: 1) De Zerbi has much more managerial experience, including in the PL; and 2) De Zerbi is a free agent, which means there will be no compensation to pay. Enzo, by contrast, would cost around £10m. Given Chelsea's widely-reported challenges with PSR, this aspect should not be underestimated.

Reportedly Brighton are Still due £5m compensation if he takes a job within the next X months (not specified). Think it was reported in telegraph. He’s not free, but he’s half the cost of Enzo so point still stands.

The whole thing can be drawn long over the summer and it ends up that all names being mentioned don't get the job. Instead it will be left field appointment and be given to club legend. Someone like a Gianfranco Zola, yep did terrible at Birmingham City, but this Chelsea board have already made some weird decisions.

I suppose it's also whether DeZerbi wants to potentially tarnish his reputation by going to such a basket case of a club and have no say on what players are brought in etc. In that respect he'd have far more to lose than Maresca. As a free agent, they could have had him by now if he wanted to go?

IMO No managers reputation is ever tarnished by taking on Chelsea.

Modern Chelsea managers go with no real expectation  other than to be sacked early and then a couple years down the track they have "big epl club" on their resume.
