The Enzo Thread

Player power got us over the line..

Just as in 2014/15 when Cambiasso took control and saved our PL status.

I really wish Cambiasso would take a job somewhere, so we can dispel this myth. It’ll never happen though.

Cambiasso was okay for us. That’s it, okay. He wasn’t really a revelation. He’s no head coach, his said that himself. That’s why he’s no longer in day to day football.

I'm struggling to remember another appointment like this one. No disrespect to Enzo as I think he'll have a bright future in management but it's bizarre from Chelsea's point of view

It's a shame as I thought he might try to get rid of Rudkin but it looks like we re stuck with him. Although the 3 managers we were linked with last summer all got promoted

Are these the same fans that started an “Enzo out” poll before the season had finished with the vast majority supporting his exit?

You do realise that the VAST majority of Leicester fans wouldn’t even be aware of this Enzo out poll don’t you? Social media and reality are two very different things.

Well.

Here's hoping the likes of Justin, Coady and Cannon experience a magical renaissance under new management similar to Vestergaard this season.

We've got a decent squad with a year together under their belts and some great momentum.

Vast majority of those that completed the poll, not the entire fan base or stadium attendees. Not sure what you think he meant.

They have zero chance of winning the PL next season, and if they they fail to do so he'll be sacked.

They have all the tools to give it a really good go. They massively under performed this season.

They get that squad fit and it’s pretty good.

Was thinking the same. When Poch was sacked, it never even crossed my mind they'd be interested in Enzo. They seem utterly obsessed with us and Brighton.

They’re running out of people to appoint at this stage.

They saw I’d got a UEFA B on my LinkedIn and invited me for an interview as well.

They are way off Man City and Arsenal. The squad is simply not balanced.

They need to trim the squad, as it’s a mess for sure.

They should easily be pushing for too 4 though.

If he sorts their injuries out they are more than balanced. It's just getting it right and managing all the egos there!

It's a absolute bin fire there at the minute and going to take a look to get them playing the 'enzo way'

What did he mean then? My understanding was he suggested the poll reflected the opinion of Leicester fans at the time, otherwise why mention it?

5 year deal. Fair play to Enzo he’s going to be minted in about 8 months

If he’s keen to simply coach a squad and not have any other responsibilities then that’s cool but I can’t believe that this will work out. Stuff will happen higher up which affects him and he’ll have little if any input.

bit it’s a win win for him

take the job

If he makes a success of it then he’s set up for the merry go round of elite European coaches will all the top jobs that entails. He’s minted for life and the lives of his kids.
if it goes wrong then it’s Chelsea - he’ll get a free pass for another mid table PL club to regain his reputation

That won't be enough for their mental owners. I'm pretty certain they're going to hit financial restrictions too as well, bearing in mind they've given 30 players 9 year contracts on huge wages that nobody else will pay, so shifting those will not be easy.

Well he presumably meant the vast majority of people who completed the poll, rather than the vast majority of Leicester fans.

They've probably done us a favour. Could never see us staying up with him as manager. Maybe we'll get a relegation avoidance specialist in. Cos that's what we need imo.

He's been fine but I can't see why Chelsea would get him in over Poch.

The £10,000,000 compensation will help us massively I’d imagine.

From Enzos’ point of view, I’m disappointed he’ll most likely be leaving, however I can’t blame him.

We are a mess behind the scenes. We likely don’t have the funds available to transform the squad in a way he wants. Pending points deductions and who knows what’s to come.

Then you have someone dangling a massive pay cheque in front of you at a club that literally has unlimited resources, albeit it’s a basket case. If he cracks it, he could become a hero at Chelsea.

The Shed End might find it an uninspiring appointment; however we didn’t really love the Ranieri appoint.

Let’s just take a moment to reflect how that turned out ……

Glad you know his thoughts. Doesn’t make much sense though as usually people use poll results to demonstrate a general consensus rather than knowingly not as you appear to suggest. Anyway who cares.

What I do know is that football fans are notoriously fickle.

The fans demanding loyalty now will be the same fans who will be wanting the manager out if we’re bottom at Christmas playing boring football.

I simply don’t think it’s realistic to expect loyalty after an approach from Chelsea. Fans don’t usually give managers much time and neither do the suits that appoint them. They’ve got to maximise their appeal whilst their star is high

Hey, just a guess, as I doubt he polled the entire fan base, but maybe he did!
