There is a young offensive midfielder playing for Wolfsberger AC here in Austria.  They got him from Chelsea a couple of years back. Worth a look at least, thats if the Recruitment Team have time in between scouring Sagamarkt.com for potential pension top-ups.

For me if we are going to have a slight lack of creativity, we need someone who can deliver from set pieces. Not necessarily scoring but corners/crossed free kicks. but scoring from free kicks would be an advantage too.

5 in and 5 out - although probably be lucky to see 2 in and 2 out with how long it seemingly takes us - or we go on a mad one on deadline day after losing 3/3 games

Alfie Doughty - competition for Kristiansen

Mandela Keita - competition for both Winks and Wilf

Left winger - depth / competition for Mav

“Star” attacking / creative midfielder - Alves as back up, could also use BDCR

Starting striker - we need someone who can start ahead of who we already have

 

Out:

Ward - in the bin

Souttar - sell (probably be loaned though)

Thomas - sell (probably be loaned though)

Soumare - sell (probably be loaned though)

Daka (sell - probably be loaned though) / Cannon (loan)

Don't disagree with any of this @moore_94, but surely minus KDH, Yunus and Praet we need at least two ACMs? That is, if like me you can't see Alves or Golding being PL ready?

I’m pleased by Coopers comments regarding competition for places. He’s spot on, the last thing we need are players convinced they are playing regardless of form or application in training. 
 

All I would add to that is another creative type of midfielder. One isn’t enough imo

Personally I would be willing to give Alves a go - but it doesn’t help when there hasn’t really been much of a pre-season to see him so I can see why a lot of people have a different view on it

 

Might be one where we could look at the left wing competition also being someone who is very capable of playing at 10 as well if needed

Decent shouts, think we're risking underestimating the required central midfielders needed though. It feels like we've lost loads.

I agree and I think that is why we should go for Mandela Keita as I think he would be comfortable as competition for both Winks and Wilf (and would probably end up ahead of Wilf quickly in my opinion)

 

Maybe pick up someone like Steven Alzate on a free as well (who I think you have mentioned before)

Good list and assessment mate. 
 

As others have said, maybe another deep-lying playmaker or CAM is the only thing to add to that. 
 

I just hope we get a recognised set piece taker amongst that lot, one of Alfie Doughty, Gabriel Sara, Cameron Puertas or Matt O’Riley would be perfect 🙏🏻
