Rotherham (H) Match Thread

At work so having to listen to it on the radio.

Sounds like these are proving difficult to break down?

Just getting that all important first goal. Will force them to come at us and leave them more vulnerable to us getting more.

Absolutely no excuses for anything other than 3 points against this fodder, regardless of how many they have in defence or how much time they waste.

Feel sorry for any n09 in this system..run around your own arse, running into space

NEVER receiving the ball, nobody looking at you..

Daka.. when I say he’s not getting a smell, it’s not his fault…

Fatawu…just a bit too defensive in his runs..

Justin should be quicker in his deliberation of letting the ball go

Ndidi should be staying forward, because when he fallsback,he prevents. Ndidi,Justin,Fatawu ,KDH using that small space..I front of them,he also ran up his own arse for nothing

Its ok ,but we are not releasing the ball early enough,as we break into that last 3rd

Its a weird one, they behind the ball, but they not pressing us or marking hard, as an example the guy marking winks looks like he cant be bothered, doesnt get very close to him.

The main issue is the way we playing.

They not blocking shots etc. gaps to exploit, we just been crap to be blunt.   Their keeper has barely had anything to do.

Also KDH is usually on the left supporting, but hes been centre all the game, however the ball going nowhere near him.

It’ll be interesting to see how Rotherham approach this, they are already 9 points adrift and draws are not much use.

Care to reconsider this by any chance?

Bit brain dead from Tags. It's all well and good calling for more direct passing but that doesn't work if the opposition refuse to leave their six yard box.

The long pass over against Plymouth worked because they came to press us in our own half.

How are you meant to play quick and direct against a team that won't come and engage at all?

What we're doing is fine. We actually created a few dangerous moments in the first half we just needed more quality with the finish.

We're playing the wrong type of risky pass.

The risk we're currently taking is the risk that the ball might go out of play, with cute chipped balls and cross field balls over their defence.

Against a Rotherham team offering nothing in possession, we can afford to risk losing the ball more often. We need to play more short, intricate passes in and around the box. If we lose it we'll probably win it back quickly anyway.

The ball going out of play kills the move, and getting those long/cute balls right is so hard to do with the numbers they have back there. We're literally having to land the ball in a 1ft x 1ft zone.

Them getting the ball back doesn't end the move. Eventually we'd find half a yard and get a shot off.

Exactly what we've done in these first couple of minutes and we already look more dangerous.
