This guy is incredible.  Injured for the majority of games for the foxes but then fit for Northern Ireland......Has been available for selection for half a season for Manure.....smelling it.

Another that didn't fancy it under the frauds management. 

Wasn't half as good for us as people made him out to be

Each to their own but I think this kind of thing is a bit unnecessary Evans played 152 games for us which even with his injury riddled last season works out at over 30 games a season. He also was a bloody good defender and was in the side for some great times as a city fan including the FA cup final which he made his injuries worse by trying to play in. 

 

Also Rob Huth came off the back of 2 injury ravaged seasons at stoke then played virtually every game in the great escape and title win and no one questioned his commitment, injuries happen. 

 

But either way he's moved on we've moved on who really cares, to be honest with the odd exception like Fofana I mostly want ex players to do well.

To be fair, look at Ricky P this season. Looks like another Brendan masterclass.

The first half is correct.

 

The second half is way off the mark - on form and committed, Jonny Evans is (was) an elite centerback. He was brilliant for us in parts. He just capitulated under pressure and poor management. The injuries issue is a bit suspect and we can certainly say he didn't fancy it but he was definitely terrific for us when he was on form.

No time for him at all after last season. Went missing completely as captain when we needed leadership desperately and showed absolutely no remorse about our relegation - after the final game against West Ham his interview was a disgrace, just talking about how the players had been saying goodbye to each other in the dressing room. WTAF?! If he ever comes back to the KP, I hope he gets a worse reception than Maguire did.

ricardo and JJ been pretty much fit all season. under rodgers they were constantly getting injured

He did the same at West Brom if I remember correctly.

They run far less on our current system. Justin at CB in a back three and Ricardo as an inverted full back instead of both marauding up the wing as Rodgers attacking full backs

disagree. Feel like he was steady , calm and dependable and used his experience well.. played with no frills - that’s what you want in a CB.

 

 

I do find it amusing though that he’s one of Man United best players this season… but that’s not saying much.. I know..

He was a good player for us, certainly a player who is better when things are going well, probably quite hard on himself and that comes through in performances.  It is ultimately much easier to look good in a team which is performing well.  Although that doesn't explain why he is doing well this season

Whilst I see the frustration with Evans, I think his comments at the end of the final game last season did not go down well. But what did find really sad is the FA Cup winning team, the only FA Cup win in our history and so many of the players that won it for us that day are now spoken about so negatively amongst fans on here. 
Like the league winning team they should go down in history amongst our supporters but look at the team that day Schmeichel, Fofana, Evans, Soyuncu, Castagne, Tielemans, Ndidi, Thomas, Perez, Iheanacho and Vardy - Maddison, Morgan, Choudhury and Albrighton 

 

Of that list only really the players who won the league also are looked upon fondly. Fofana, Evans, Castagne, Tielemans, Thomas, Perez and Maddison half that team seem to get really negative opinions regularly. Hopefully, history will be kinder to them than we are now.

Do fans ever really like players who get their team relegated?  It's bound to harm their legacy.  Those who won the league and the FA cup have more status to play with.

It's more the manner in which it happens. I don't think anyone's got any overriding hate for Micky Adams' OAPs who were just a bit shit.

 

A lot of last seasons lot were probably as emotionally detached from the football club as it gets when you're a professional footballer. Players like Tielemans included. No one will forgive that.

The word I would use most about the respect (lack of) given to some of the FA cup winners for me is waste.

 

I don’t think a single fan when Youri signed on a permanent deal would have foreseen his 18 months of unfit, unprofessional performances.

 

As for Evans, his comments after the West Ham game sadly doesn’t surprise me as West Brom fans called out his commitment etc.

 

He was a very good CB on his day but it’s fair to question his lack of reading the room and quite frankly out of touch thought process, I get it’s a job to them but it’s not like one of us doing a 9 - 5 job is it?

Marauding ? As far as just past the halfway line then stopping and play the ball backwards inside to the centre back!
