I am not actually that fussed we didn't sign this particular player. I think we needed a different type of CM.

However, the way this played out is not a great endorsement for our club or those running it.

Enzo is already tetchy because of some of our moany fans, so this won't help!

I would like Top to seriously considering shaking up those below him though.

Feels like things could be handled a lot better with a change of DOF

A lot of the noise and so many posts  with the handling of this potential transfer, came from  fans and media trying to push it along or question it,

not forgetting Inter has actually several major media outlets, that makes waves.

The whole process from our side could well be taken well out of context and more importance given to it than deserves, even sending unwanted player for a medical.

FT has created also the uproar,by holding onto something has it was something, that was doomed to fail though no statements were forthcoming from outside &  because of Rudkin or our club..FT made the most noise not the club.

I will wait until the facts are known and are on the table..

No matter how the club excuses this one it just looks like one big farce and an almighty cock up of grandiose proportions!

If Vichai was still here heads would surely roll. I feel sad as a fan and feel bad for Enzo. He deserves much better than this.

Coming from Man City our backroom operation must look like a circus run by clowns to him. Please don't leave!

If Rudkin fuchs up the summer transfer window as well, then Enzo may just walk.

There is no way top and susan are guilt free on this, rudkin is the go between, but the parameters he can work under, the funds available, the negotiating limits will be defined by susan/top.  They also are responsible for keeping him in the position, so that alone makes them culpable.

Looking at all the reports related to things like payment structure, the fact a 500k loan is no different to a 4 year purchase for 2 million in regards to FFP and that in recent years we have only managed to bring players in either following big sales or a large loan from the bank, all points to cash flow issues.  The next set of accounts will be interesting and hopefully the numbers in that wont be too obfuscated to see how close to FFP we actually were.

FFP having 2 limits, a lower soft limit, and the higher hard limit, the higher hard limit can only be met without a severe penalty when proof of funding the permitted losses is available.

Totally agree but rarely do you see that level of shakeup at the top unless there's a takeover involved.

The DOF would be a start in the right direction and once the new man has hopefully told a few home truths, it may force their hand and we start to see some action

Enzo needs someone he can trust and at the very least be smarter with what we have. We've squandered way too much in recent years on benchwarmers and squad players who end up leaving for peanuts

Last January we were all really excited by 3 signings yet paid well over the odds for Souttar and Kristiansen whilst so many were frustrated that Tete was only a loan. As it happened we were all glad to send Tete back, Souttar and Kristiansen aren’t featuring even in the Championship. So surely this time round being cautious is no bad thing. We have a good squad and promising academy players and KDH stays. Sensi had a medical but there is some suggestion that he didn’t pass this with flying colours and various legal/permit/FFP issues were hinted when the truth is somewhere in between - player working on fitness/injury issues before summer.

Regarding the medical side - a few changes in the physio team day. Main problem under Rodgers seemed to be doc Mark Waller who was sacked last summer as couldn’t handle Covid issues & fitness coach Glenn Driscoll well out of depth. (Celtic hesitated about taking Driscoll back but BR insisted.) Physios were decent but new structure needed.

No accident this year that injuries and fitness much better managed, and Wilf may be returning sooner than hoped. Keep the faith foxes.

A badly run club is also one that can't buy a single player for buttons because it is in a mess with FFP.

I think we will be finding in these next 2 seasons throughout Europe, how problematic it is for many clubs,so let’s not bring out the Spanish Inquisition

just for ourselves and a minor few…

Enzo asked for just 1 signing and a cheap one at that. Lord knows what he must he thinking tonite as he hits the sack.

He's been tasked to get us promotion and play in the premier league. He's well on track to deliver that. Is the board on track

to deliver their promise? What confidence will Enzo have that we can buy any players in the summer or even get rid of the dead

rotting wood left over from last season? Just put yourself in his shoes!

He's manager of the most expensive squad in championship history. Sure he won't need Horlyx.

They have made mistakes in the past. Are you suggesting we should carry along the same path  and bow to public pressure and buy players we can’t afford and risk breaking  FFP rules??

They are still in premier league and most probably will still be there for the foreseeable.

Id be very surprised if both avoid relegation, in part due to possible upcoming sanctions..

Enzo has said all Jan we need players out to bring in.

No players out = no players in why is this so difficult for people to understand???

What’s “so difficult for people to understand” is how we got into the situation in the first instance. And then having found ourselves here, how we have failed woefully to get out of it. We certainly are not the only club that’s “needed players out to bring in” and yet somehow most others have successfully managed to do so. SMH

There's dozens of them out there then. Transfer spending across the top two leagues was 87% down on last January. It's not in a mess, it's just maxed out. In any case, the fees and PSR compliance weren't the issue, they were agreed days ago and no-one wants to be in Everton or Forest's shoes next season waiting to lose points when we're trying to re-establish ourselves.

The big issue was that this transfer dragged on for over 3 weeks and just like the Silva coçk up from a few seasons ago failed because someone didn't get the basics done quick enough.

Not to belabor the obvious point, but putting yourself in danger of sanctions might well signal a “badly run” club.

I’m no fan of Rudkin and his cronies, but really, we don’t know what happened.  As others have said, it could be that Inter moved the goalposts at the last minute, thinking that having got as far as a medical etc,  we’d agree to new terms.

Once again - this is being made too much about Sensi and less about the fact we've come out of the window objectively, unquestionably weaker than what we went in. If we pull the plug on Sensi and get a loanee in I think plenty would say fair enough even if it's not ideal. But we've thrown our eggs in this one basket, a deal we've known was pretty complicated (because of our own previous mismanagement by the same people) and ended up with those eggs splattered over our faces.

We're three players down on when we went into the window, one of those a midfielder - not to mention the fact we've lost one of our starting midfielders for the majority of the rest of the season too.

I've seen enough of these jokers. How they still get the benefit of any doubt on here is astonishing to me. We better hope we see this through. We've weakened our chances this window.
