3.5 year contract with his injury history in a slower league than ours just seems very silly from us, again.

Could be to amortise it over the length of a three-year PL accounting period? IDK if that's how it works

The "first team" part is what does not add up.  Will readily grant he's improved some lately; but he's yet to be consistent at this level, much less PL.

Their next Cup tie is Villa.  How is he going to see the pitch?

I'm wondering if we didn't just tell Chelsea to take him back or watch him mostly warm our bench.

depends on the ability. If he’s class when he plays, i don’t mind only getting 15 games out of him a season. The problem we’ve had with our injury prone players, is that they weren’t good enough to begin with.

I have seen some Inter fans say that when he's fit he's as good as Barella and Brozovic, even some saying he is the biggest 'what if' in Inter's recent history. If it's true then getting 10-15 games a season from him would not be the end of the world.

I just wanna know if we can get Sensi in now that Casadei is gone back to Chelsea.

or do we still need to offload more players. Christ the timing of all the injuries and afcon is really screwing things up.

Preparation for Ipswich is less than ideal to put it lightly.

He’s currently sat on Inter’s bench it seems!

Well, yeah. Only a verbal agreement has been made so far. Transfer dealings take a while. It's not like an instant thing and there needs to be negotiations. We're currently awaiting a reply from the English FA to find out if we can straight register him following a departure.

However, as Enzo has said, we need to shift players first.

Going off his stats he looks amazing 😒

Harry Winks would have far worse numbers than that, and we know what a revelation he's been.

This guy is a fantastic player, no one is doubting that, not even Inter fans. It's all about his injury record and if he can withstand the physical nature of the English game. Honestly that terrifies me, but as a player, this is someone that could play in either KDH, Ndidi's or Winks' position and be top class at it. I find it interesting that it seems like Enzo wants to use him as an 8 (hence sending Casadei back), whereas Inter moved him to be more of a Harry Winks player to protect his body a bit more.

This is his write-up on Wikipedia, which I think is highly accurate:

Style of play

A former offensive or central midfielder, with noted vision, good technique, and an eye for goal, Sensi now usually functions in a defensive or creative midfield role for his team. He often acts as a deep-lying playmaker in front of the back-line, due to his ball control, range of distribution, and long passing ability with both feet in spite of being naturally right-footed, which allows him to create chances for teammates; he is also capable of playing in several other midfield and offensive positions, and has been deployed as a winger, as a mezzala, or as a supporting forward. Already regarded as one of the most promising young Italian footballers of his generation, Sensi has drawn the attention of larger clubs, and his playing style, mobility, small stature, and low centre of gravity have drawn comparisons with Marco Verratti, as well as Andrea Pirlo, although he has personally stated that his main influence is Spanish playmaker Xavi. Sensi has also been praised by Italy manager Roberto Mancini, who described him as: "...good, technically gifted, and fast", also noting that "...he has character." In spite of his slender build, which makes him ineffective at winning more physical challenges for the ball, he is also effective defensively due to his tactical intelligence and interpretation of space.[2][42][43][44][45][46][47][48][49] Despite his ability, however, he has often struggled with injuries throughout his career.[50]

The main point was - getting him in before Monday looks unlikely now.

I imagine it also kills the idea that we instigated Casadei’s recall.

Why would you think Leicester tried to recall him when Enzo actively wanted him all summer and was one of his chosen targets?

It wouldn't make sense and is a bit of a copium
