He's still in the squad against Fiorentina tonight

I wonder if Praet playing yesterday also wasn't an indication that he's staying.

He was expected to be in their squad tonight as they have some suspensions in midfield

It didn't come across as sarcasm, but it's hard to say.

I think Parker will be taking over from Klopp in the summer though, so the ship has sailed on that one.

I'd say it's more likely Paul Parker ends up at Liverpool than Scott Parker

Seems like an initial loan rather than a permanent with an obligation if we get promoted. Think overall that’s a better deal

That wouldn't really make sense though, as I believe his contract with Inter is up in less than six months?

Massive coup from us if we’ve loaned him with an option for a free transfer in the summer when he’s out of contract.

Quite possibly because our financial obligations to the end of June are EFL requirements, rather than PSR for the PL.

Although as @coolhandfox has said, there's very little difference in the accounts in paying a 500k loan fee or paying 666k across 3 years. It must be the longer term view we are protecting ourselves against.

Basically an insurance in case of not getting promoted

So, half a million for a player they own - plus two million if we want to keep him when they no longer own him to sell. That figures.

Or you can read it as a deferred payment, which will no doubt be FFP related.

If we go up there's no difference in accounts. If we don't then we only pay 500k and avoid his wages in the championship. It's actually pretty smart for us and the player

I'm guessing this is why we are paying more then earlier rumours on the fee suggested. Inter are happy to gamble with the higher fee as we are top of the championship. Very little risk to us or Sensi

Especially as 2 or 2.5, in the grand scheme of things, is peanuts...

Replaces casadeis loan space and means no obligation to sell anyone surely?

Sign the paperwork, close the window

Well spotted, sir.

We would basically sign him permanently the instant our promotion is secured

Just a way for us to push back the fee to later in the year and it would help to protect both Sensi and us

If we don't go up Sensi doesn't have to stay with us in the Championship and we don't get stuck with his wages in the Championship

Inter probably aren't that bothered by the fee anyway and just want his wages gone so would suit them as well

This is probably true and logically it doesn't exactly scream it's a positive move for us lol

Don't think it is, its 500k in this years accounts or 666k in this years accounts depending on opting for a loan with an obligation to buy, over a straight up purchase.

Probably pay for it with whatever money Chelsea gave us back from sending Cesare back?

Replaces his loan space in the squad... no more in or out, job done.. concentrate on the football

Not really, if it's 2m and we sign him on a 3 year contract only 666k would be amortised against this years books if we brought him now.

I think it's more we don't want to be stuck with his wages if we blow going up.

He's wage for a season we cost more than the transfer fee.

:jawdrop:  Have we sold our souls?
